Farnsworth is a census designated place in western Ochiltree County, Texas, United States. It lies at the intersection of State Highway 15 with FM376, southwest of the city of Perryton, the county seat of Ochiltree County. Its elevation is 2,995 feet (913 m). Although Farnsworth is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 79033; the ZCTA for ZIP code 79033 had a population of 106 at the 2000 census. History Founded in 1919 along the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway, Farnsworth was not the first community in the area: the coming of ranchers in the 1880s had led to the establishment of a nearby community named Olds. Keith Duane Flowers (April 24, 1930 – November 12, 1993) was an American football player who played one season in the National Football League (NFL) with the Detroit Lions and Dallas Texans. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the eleventh round of the 1952 NFL Draft. Clyde Flowers
Clyde Eugene Flowers (October 6, 1921 – August 15, 2000) was an American football player. Flowers was born in Perryton, Texas, in 1921. He attended Texas Christian University (TCU) where he played at the guard position for the TCU Horned Frogs football team from 1942 to 1944. He was selected as captain of the 1943 and 1944 teams. He was selected by the Newspaper Enterprise Association (NEA) as a first-team player on the 1944 All-America college football team. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the 3rd round of the 1944 NFL Draft (21st overall) while he still had a year of eligibility, but even after graduating, he never played in the NFL and chose to go into coaching instead. Flowers was an assistant football coach at Plainview High School in 1945 and 1946. He then served as TCU's line coach from 1947 to 1949. Mike Hargrove
Dudley Michael Hargrove (born October 26, 1949) is a former Major League Baseball first baseman and manager. He is currently employed as an advisor with the Cleveland Guardians. Hargrove batted and threw left-handed. He played for the Texas Rangers (1974–78), San Diego Padres (1979), and Cleveland Indians (1979–85). After retiring, he went on to manage the Indians, Baltimore Orioles, and Seattle Mariners. Waka is an unincorporated community in western Ochiltree County, Texas, United States. It lies along State Highway 15 southwest of the city of Perryton, the county seat of Ochiltree County. Its elevation is 3,045 feet (928 m). Although Waka is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 79093; the ZCTA for ZIP code 79093 had a population of 76 at the 2000 census. The community, initially named Wawaka, was founded by German settlers in 1885, and its post office was opened in 1901. When another community, Burnside, was platted along the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway 3 miles (5 km) away, Wawaka's residents and its postmaster moved to Burnside; the community was renamed Waka in 1921, two years after the Wawaka residents moved, but the post office remained "Wawaka" for six years.
