''Performance'' is a 1989 studio album by Marti Webb (born 13 December 1944, Hampstead, North West London) with the Philharmonia Orchestra. Although originally released in 1989 on LP it has subsequently been released in 1993, 1994 and 1996 on CD. The album was produced by Chris Walker for First Night Records and released by Telstar Records in the UK and by WEA records in Eire.Original album sleeve notes The album features songs from musical theatre. A number of tracks were from then new shows, and various others from productions that had recently been playing the West End. Webb's recording of "Memory" coincided with her return to play Grizabella in ''Cats'', for the UK's first tour of the show. "In One of My Weaker Moments" was released by Telstar as a single, with "Tell Me on a Sunday" as the B side. Marti Webb
Marti Webb (born 13 December 1943) is an English actress and singer, who appeared on stage in ''Evita (musical), Evita'', before starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber's one-woman show ''Tell Me on a Sunday'' in 1980. This included her biggest hit single, "Take That Look Off Your Face", a UK top three hit, with the parent album also reaching the top three. Charles Hart is an English lyricist, librettist and songwriter best known for his work on ''The Phantom of the Opera'' as well as a number of other musicals and operas for both stage and television. Life and Works Hart was born in London in 1961, the son of George Wilson Hart, an antiquarian book dealer, and Juliet Lavinia Hart (née Byam Shaw), actress. Sir Trevor Robert Nunn (born 14 January 1940) is a British theatre director. He has been the Artistic Director for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre, and, currently, the Theatre Royal, Haymarket. ''Cats'' is a sung-through musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based upon the 1939 poetry collection ''Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats'' by T. S. Eliot. It tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make the "Jellicle choice" by deciding which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. As of 2022, ''Cats'' remains the fourth-longest-running Broadway show and the seventh-longest-running West End show. "Memory" is a show tune composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Trevor Nunn based on poems by T. S. Eliot. It was written for the 1981 musical ''Cats'', where it is sung primarily by the character Grizabella as a melancholic remembrance of her glamorous past and as a plea for acceptance. "Memory" is the climax of the musical and by far its best-known song, having achieved mainstream success outside of the musical. "Only You" is the love duet from Andrew Lloyd Webber's ''Starlight Express''. It is performed by the protagonist, Rusty, a young steam locomotive and his true love, the observation car, Pearl. Overview "Only You" is the second version of the show-stopping love song at the key moment in ''Starlight Express''. In the Original London production, Pearl sang a solo "Only He", a passionate power ballad originally performed by Stephanie Lawrence. ''Aspects of Love'' is a musical with music and book by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and lyrics by Don Black and Charles Hart. It is based on the 1955 novella of the same name by David Garnett. ''Follies'' is a Musical theater, musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Goldman.
