Peregrina (Mexican TV Series)
''Peregrina'' (English: ''Pilgrim'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Nathalie Lartilleux for Televisa. The series is a remake of the Venezuelan telenovela '' Kassandra''. It premiered on November 14, 2005 and ended on March 31, 2006. It became an unexpected success, garnering ratings in excess of 30 points. África Zavala starred as protagonist and Eduardo Capetillo starred has a dual role of protagonist/antagonist, while Jacqueline Andere, Cynthia Klitbo and Natasha Dupeyrón starred as antagonists. Plot Millionaire Eliseo (Carlos Cámara) and his family are struck by tragedy when his beloved daughter Marisela (África Zavala) is diagnosed with a fatal illness. Marisela becomes pregnant and dies after giving birth to a baby girl. Widowed, devastated, and lonely, Eliseo marries Victoria (Jacqueline Andere). Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), ''téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and '' sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. ''Pablo y Andrea'' is a Mexican children's telenovela produced by Lucero Suárez for Televisa in 2005. Pablo y Andrea is an adaptation of the classic ''The Adventures of Tom Sawyer'' by Mark Twain. The adventures are not developed on the coast of the Mississippi River, but in the magical town of Huasca de Ocampo in the Mexican state of Hidalgo. It was the last children's telenovela produced by Televisa, the lack of interest of the public with novels generated lower-rated audience. Scenes were cut from the original broadcast in order to reduce the 100 episodes to 75 because of the low ratings. On August 1, 2005, Canal de las Estrellas started broadcasting ''Pablo y Andrea'' weekdays at 4:00pm, replacing ''Sueños y caramelos''. Ignacio López López (born 15 January 1925), known professionally as Ignacio López Tarso, is a Mexican actor of stage, film and television. Cárlos Cámara Lázaro (9 January 1934 – 24 February 2016) was a Dominican-born Mexican actor. Biography Cámara was born to a family of artists.
