Per Erik Sevelin
Per Erik Sevelin (15 March 1791 - 26 August 1851), was a Swedish actor and ballet dancer. Biography He was born in Stockholm, the son of the governor of an estate, Per Erik Sevelin, and Anna Katarina Nordström, and married the opera singer Anna Sofia Sevelin in 1813. Per Erik Sevelin was trained as a ballet dancer in the Royal Swedish Ballet at the Royal Swedish Opera, where he was active as a dancer from 1801 to 1806. After this, he had a successful career as an actor. He was engaged at the Djurgårdsteatern in 1806-1811, the Royal Dramatic Theatre in 1811-1838, the Mindre teatern Mindre teatern (''The Smaller Theatre''), Nya teatern (''The New Theatre''), Lindeberska teatern (''The Lindeberg Theatre''), was a Swedish theatre at Kungsgatan in Stockholm, active 1842–1863. Anna Sofia Sevelin
Anna Sofia Sevelin née Thunberg (23 July 1790 – 25 February 1871) was a Swedish opera singer (alto). She was a ''Hovsångare'' and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts. Life Anna Sofia Sevelin was the daughter of the church musician Olof Thunberg. She married the ballet dancer and actor Per Erik Sevelin in 1813. She was enrolled as a student at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy in 1806. She made her debut in 1807, and was engaged as a singer at the Royal Swedish Opera in 1813–37. Sevelin also made tours abroad, and performed in Copenhagen and Hamburg. Anna Sofia Sevelin was given good reviews as a singer. Her voice is described as a deep alto, which changed to a soprano with time. However, critics claimed that she lacked acting ability, and that she always performed on the stage as if she performed on a concert. Royal Swedish Ballet
The Royal Swedish Ballet is one of the oldest ballet companies in Europe. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, King Gustav III founded the ballet in 1773 as a part of his national cultural project in response to the French and Italian dominance in this field; he also founded the Royal Swedish Opera and the Royal Dramatic Theatre. All of these were initially located in the old theatre of Bollhuset. The troupe was founded with the opening of the Royal Swedish Opera, which has served as its home since that time. Djurgårdsteatern
Djurgårdsteatern (Swedish for "Djurgården Theatre"), was an historical Swedish theatre, active at Djurgården in Stockholm between 1801 and 1929 (from 1863 in a new building). It was the only theatre in Stockholm outside the royal theatres during the monopol of the royal theatres between 1799 and 1842, and it also played an important part in abolishing this royal monopol. Until 1842, it was a "summer theatre", but later, it became an all-year theatre and an important one, called the "theatre of the people". It was described as a wood building with the same exterior of a barn, and was painted yellow. Royal Dramatic Theatre
The Royal Dramatic Theatre ( sv, Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern, colloquially ''Dramaten'') is Sweden's national stage for "spoken drama", founded in 1788. Around one thousand shows are put on annually on the theatre's five running stages. The theatre has been at its present location in the Art Nouveau building at Nybroplan, Stockholm, since 1908. The theatre was built by the architect Fredrik Lilljekvist. Famous artists like Carl Milles and Carl Larsson were involved in making the decorations, and some of the interior decorations were made by Prince Eugen. The theatre's acting school, the Royal Dramatic Training Academy, produced many actors and directors who would go on to be famous, including Gustaf Molander (who also taught there), Alf Sjöberg, Greta Garbo, Vera Schmiterlöw, Signe Hasso, Ingrid Bergman, Gunnar Björnstrand, Max von Sydow, and Bibi Andersson. Mindre teatern (''The Smaller Theatre''), Nya teatern (''The New Theatre''), Lindeberska teatern (''The Lindeberg Theatre''), was a Swedish theatre at Kungsgatan in Stockholm, active 1842–1863. The building was used as localities for the Royal Dramatic Theatre in 1863–1908. History The theatre was founded by Anders Lindeberg in 1842 after the theatre monopoly of the Royal Dramatic theatre was abolished.
