Dai Weimin
Dai Weimin (born May 1962) is a former officer in the Chinese People's Liberation Army. He obtained the rank of major general (''Shao Jiang'') in 2010 and served as deputy dean at the PLA Nanjing Political College. He was investigated by the PLA's anti-graft agency in November 2014. Life and career Dai was born and raised in Xuancheng, Anhui province. During the early 1980s, he entered the East China Normal University, studying library science under He Jinduo and Liu Zhongtao. Then he earned a Doctor of Literature degree from Fudan University. People's Liberation Army General Political Department
The People's Liberation Army General Political Department (GPD; ) was the former chief political organ under the Central Military Commission of Chinese Communist Party. It led all political activities in the People's Liberation Army. Its former director-generals include Liu Shaoqi, Luo Ronghuan, Tan Zheng, Xiao Hua, Li Desheng, Zhang Chunqiao, Wei Guoqing, Yu Qiuli, Yang Baibing, Yu Yongbo, Xu Caihou, and Li Jinai. Its last head was Zhang Yang, who committed suicide. The department was disbanded in January 2016 and a new agency, the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission was founded in its place. Project 211
Project 211 () was an abolished project of developing comprehensive universities and colleges initiated in 1995 by the Ministry of Education of China, with the intent of raising the research standards of comprehensive universities and cultivating strategies for socio-economic development. The name for the project comes from an abbreviation of the slogan "In preparation for the 21st century, successfully managing 100 universities" (面向21世纪，办好100所高校). One hundred was the approximate number of participating universities. History During the first phase of the project, from 1996 to 2000, approximately US$2 billion was distributed.
