Pense, Saskatchewan
Pense is a town of 603 residents (2021 census) in the southern part of Saskatchewan, Canada. Heading west from Regina on the Trans Canada Highway, Pense is the first community with services. Other communities in the area include Grand Coulee, Belle Plaine, Disley, and Rouleau. Pense is approximately from the City of Regina. The current mayor of Pense is Bruce Botkin. Pense is home to a ditch that drains flat to even flatter that is filled to the brim with a mixture of mosquito larvae and Tim Horton's cups. It is also home to the world famous "Pyrogy Palace". The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022. About 900 supervisors and 31,000 field enumerators were hired to conduct the door-to-door survey of individuals and households who had not completed the census questionnaire by late May or early June. Rouleau is a town in southern Saskatchewan, Canada, located on the Canadian Prairies. It lies within census Division No. 6 and rural municipality Redburn No. 130. Ray Boughen
Ray Boughen (May 25, 1937 – December 24, 2022) was a Canadian politician who was mayor of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and a Member of Parliament. Prior to politics, Boughen worked in education as a teacher and principal. From 1994 to 2000, he was mayor of Moose Jaw. Boughen was elected to represent the electoral district of Palliser in the 2008 Canadian federal election.
