Penn State Berks
Penn State Berks is a commonwealth campus of Pennsylvania State University located in Spring Township in Berks County, Pennsylvania. History First known as Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute, Penn State Berks became part of the Penn State system in 1958. The Berks campus has experienced many changes since then. WPI occupied the original Sacred Heart Church building on Hill Road, where the McDonald's Restaurant now stands, from 1930 to 1958. Its facilities were offered to Penn State to establish Penn State Wyomissing Center. It moved to its present Spring Township location in 1972. Dormitories were first added in 1990 with additional dorms in 2001, which made Berks a commuter as well as a residential campus. Student enrollment at Penn State Berks has increased steadily since 1972, when approximately 500 students attended. Today, there are an estimated 2,800 students enrolled. Neeli Bendapudi
Neeli Bendapudi is an American academic administrator who is the 19th president of the Pennsylvania State University. From 2018 until 2021, she served as the 18th president of the University of Louisville. In December 2021, the Pennsylvania State University announced that it had named Bendapudi as its next president, to succeed Eric J. Barron upon his retirement. She assumed office in May 2022 and is the first woman and the first non-white person to serve as Penn State's president. Early life and education Bendapudi was born in India and attended Andhra University, where she earned her undergraduate and master's degrees. She moved to the United States to attend graduate school at the University of Kansas, where she earned her Ph.D. in marketing. Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level.
