Pehmed Ja Karvased
''Pehmed ja karvased'' () is an ''Estonian'' TV programme. The programme, partially inspired by the (now cancelled) NTV programme of ''Kukly'', uses a number of puppets to depict Estonian politicians, celebrities and metaphors, and features satirical discussion between these puppets. The programme is directed by Karin Nurm. Acting producer is Jüri Jaanus, and producer is Raivo Suviste. The screenwriter is Toomas Kall; artist is Hardi Volmer; composer is Ardo Ran Varres. Puppet masters are Tiiu Kirsipuu, Natalia Hein, Külli Jaama, Ene Mellov, Ants Mölder. ''Puppets'' (russian: Куклы, lit. "''dolls''") was a weekly Russian TV show of political satire, produced by Vasily Grigoryev and shown on Saturdays on the TV channel NTV. It used puppets to represent celebrities, mainly the major politicians. It was inspired by the French show Les Guignols de l'info. The show was well loved in Russia and has inspired spinoffs in other countries. President Vladimir Putin was frequently represented in the show. Satire

Ardo Ran Varres (born 19 March 1974 in Tallinn) is an Estonian composer and actor. Career Ardo Ran Varres studied at the Tallinn Music High School from 1981–1992, graduated in clarinet performance, and at the Higher Theatre School of Estonian Academy of Music from 1992–1996, graduated as an actor. From 2009-2011 he studied composition in Helena Tulve's composition class at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
