Peggy Hessen Følsvik
Peggy Hessen Følsvik (born on 12 November 1960) is a Norwegian trade unionist. She was elected first deputy leader of Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions at the LO congress in 2017. In March 2021, she became the president of the union after the death of Hans-Christian Gabrielsen. She previously worked as a cabin crew in Widerøes Flyveselskap and Braathens SAFE where she was elected full-time shop steward in 1998. Hans-Christian Gabrielsen (27 July 1967 – 9 March 2021) was a Norwegian industrial worker, politician, and trade unionist. He was elected leader of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions from May 2017. Career Gabrielsen was born in Slemmestad, in Røyken in the present-day municipality of Asker. He was assigned with the pulp mill Tofte Industrier from 1984 to 1995, and was trained as process operator. From 1996 to 2003 he served as secretary for the United Federation of Trade Unions, and from 2003 had other management roles for the federation. Vigra (island)
Vigra is an island in Giske Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is located north of the islands of Valderøya and Giske, west of the mainland of Haram Municipality, and southwest of the island of Lepsøya (in Haram). Vigra has a road connection to the mainland via the Vigra Fixed Link, a series of tunnels and bridges that connect all the islands of Giske Municipality to the city of Ålesund to the south. The island was formerly part of Vigra Municipality. The island is fairly flat and barren, although most land has been converted to agricultural uses. The highest point is the tall Molnesfjellet on the north end of the island. The largest population centre on the island is the village of Roald on the northern part of the island, on the southeastern edge of Molnesfjellet. Vigra Church is the only church on the island. The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions ( no, Landsorganisasjonen i Norge, LO) is a national trade union center, decidedly the largest and probably the most influential umbrella organization of labour unions in Norway. The 21 national unions affiliated to the LO have almost 1,000,000 members of a Norwegian population of 5 million. The majority of affiliated unions organizes traditional blue collar workers, but the largest affiliate is the Norwegian Union of Municipal and General Employees which makes up more than a third of all members.
