Peggy Ahern
Peggy Lenore Ahearn Blaylock, known professionally as Peggy Ahern, (March 9, 1917 – October 24, 2012) was an American actress best known for her appearance in eight of the ''Our Gang'' series of films released between 1924 and 1927. The ''Our Gang'' series, which was also known as ''The Little Rascals'' or ''Hal Roach's Rascals'', was a series of comedic, short silent films created by director and producer Hal Roach. Ahern was one of the last surviving cast members from a Hal Roach film. Early life Ahern was born in Douglas, Arizona. She moved to Culver City, California, with her family in 1921. Career She began her film career as a child actor in the 1923 Hal Roach film, ''The Call of the Wild'', which was released by Universal Studios. Douglas, Arizona
Douglas is a city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States that lies in the north-west to south-east running Sulpher Springs Valley. Douglas has a border crossing with Mexico at Agua Prieta and a history of mining. The population was 16,531 in the 2020 Census. History The Douglas area was first settled by the Spanish in the 18th century. Presidio de San Bernardino was established in 1776 and abandoned in 1780. It was located a few miles east of present-day Douglas. The United States Army established Camp San Bernardino in the latter half of the 19th century near the presidio, and in 1910 Camp Douglas was built next to the town. Douglas was founded as an American smelter town, to treat the copper ores of nearby Bisbee, Arizona. The town is named after mining pioneer Dr. James Douglas and was incorporated in 1905. Plot As described in a review in a film magazine, Farina contacts "speckled fever," and, in order to escape school and get to the circus, Mickey, Mary, Jackie, and Joe fake having it with the aid of a paint brush. Their parents and the physician are not deceived and punishment follows in the form of castor oil. Then comes the crowning punishment when the classes at the school they evaded have been dismissed so the students can attend the circus. Charley Chase
Charles Joseph Parrott (October 20, 1893 – June 20, 1940), known professionally as Charley Chase, was an American comedian, actor, screenwriter and film director. He worked for many pioneering comedy studios but is chiefly associated with producer Hal Roach. Chase was the elder brother of comedian/director James Parrott. Life and career Born Charles Joseph Parrott in Baltimore, Maryland, Charley Chase began performing in vaudeville as a teenager and started his career in films by working at the Christie Film Company in 1912. He then moved to Keystone Studios, where he began appearing in bit parts in the Mack Sennett films, including those of Charlie Chaplin. By 1915 he was playing juvenile leads in the Keystones, and directing some of the films as Charles Parrott. ''Olympic Games'' is a 1927 American short silent comedy film directed by Anthony Mack. Plot The Gang competes in their version of the Olympics. As the boys try their hand at shot put, pole vault, and hurdles, Wheezer arrives and begins to teach Minnie how to do a Razzberry. They secretly razzle the Gang, and the gang keeps beating up an outsider who they accuse of the razzles. Farina tries the shot put, then later exhibits an exceptional pole vault. Joe has troubles with the pull up bar and a javelin. Peggy and Jean arrive to cheer on their hero, Joe. A rival gang appears and begins to pelt the kids with eggs and tomatoes.
