Pegasus Ladies' Hockey Club
Pegasus Hockey Club is a women's field hockey club based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The club enter teams in the Women's Irish Hockey League, the Irish Senior Cup, the Irish Junior Cup and the Ulster Shield. Pegasus has also represented Ireland in European competitions. Pegasus was founded in 1961 by students and teachers from the Ulster College of Physical Education, Jordanstown and Stranmillis University College. The Pegasus name is an acronym of Physical Education Girls and Staff Ulster College and Stranmillis. History Ulster Shield Pegasus won the Ulster Shield for the first time in 1966–67. Hockey Ireland, previously known as the Irish Hockey Association, is the governing body for field hockey in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. It is responsible for organising both the Ireland men's national field hockey team and the Ireland women's national field hockey team, as well as national leagues and cup competitions. Ireland Women's National Field Hockey Team
The Ireland women's national field hockey team is organised by Hockey Ireland and represents both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in international women's field hockey competitions, including the Women's Hockey World Cup and the Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship. They have previously competed in the Women's Intercontinental Cup, the Women's Hockey Champions Challenge, Women's FIH Hockey World League and the Women's FIH Hockey Series. Three Rock Rovers Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Rathfarnham, South Dublin, Ireland. The club was founded in 1893. It was originally based in Foxrock and was named after Three Rock Mountain. The club's senior men's team plays in the Men's Irish Hockey League and the Men's Irish Senior Cup. The reserve team play in the Men's Irish Junior Cup. Three Rock Rovers have also represented Ireland in European competitions, including the Euro Hockey League. Railway Union Sports Club is a multi-sports club based in Sandymount, Dublin 4, Ireland. The club was founded in 1904 and was originally known as the Railway and Steam Packet Athletic and Social Union. Maids of the Mountain Hockey Club was a women's field hockey club based in Rathfarnham, South Dublin, Ireland. The club was founded in 1918 and was originally based in Foxrock. Maids of the Mountain were closely associated with Three Rock Rovers Hockey Club. The club was founded by a group of women, the majority of whom were the wives, widows, partners, sisters or children of Three Rock Rovers players. The clubs also shared grounds and eventually merged in 1999. In 1923 Maids of the Mountain completed a national cup double, winning both the Irish Senior Cup and the Irish Junior Cup. 2020 Euro Hockey League Women
The 2020 Euro Hockey League Women was supposed to be the first edition of the Euro Hockey League Women, Europe's premier women's club field hockey tournament, organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was originally scheduled to be held at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands from 9 to 13 April 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe the tournament was put on hold in March 2020. On 12 May 2020, it was announced that the tournament was postponed to October 2020. The tournament was officially cancelled on 14 August 2020. 2012 EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (women)
The 2012 EuroHockey Club Champions Cup was the 40th edition of the premier European competition for women's field hockey clubs. The finals phase of the competition was held in Amsterdam from May 25–27. Laren defeated defending champion Den Bosch in the final 1–0. This was their maiden title in the event, and also ended Den Bosch's record 12–year winning streak. Hamburg and Club de Campo also reached the final four, with Hamburg taking out the bronze medal with a 3–1 win. Loreto Hockey Club is a women's field hockey club based in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14, Ireland. The club enter teams in the Women's Irish Hockey League, the Irish Senior Cup and the Irish Junior Cup. Ayeisha McFerran
Ayeisha McFerran (born 10 January 1996) is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. She was also named Goalkeeper of the Tournament. McFerran was also a member of the Pegasus team that won the 2014–15 Women's Irish Hockey League. Between 2015 and 2017 she was named three times as an NFHCA All-American while playing for Louisville Cardinals. Early years, family and education McFerran is originally from Larne. She is the daughter of George and Sandra McFerran. She has three siblings, Tamara, Reece and Shea. Her mother died when McFerran was 15. UCD Ladies' Hockey Club is a women's field hockey club based in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Ireland. It is the women's field hockey club of University College Dublin. In addition to playing in Colours matches with Dublin University and competing in intervarsity tournaments, the club also enter teams in the Women's Irish Hockey League, the Irish Senior Cup and the Irish Junior Cup. During the 2010s UCD has emerged as one Ireland's strongest teams in women's field hockey, winning three Irish Hockey League titles and four Irish Senior Cups.
