Peel Thunder Football Club
The Peel Thunder Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The team is based in Mandurah, Western Australia, with their home ground being Rushton Park. The club joined the WAFL as an expansion team in 1997. Since 2014 Peel have been in a formal alignment with the Fremantle Dockers of the Australian Football League, an arrangement which sees Fremantle's reserve players play for Peel. History Peel Thunder Football Club was formed in 1996 after the West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) granted a ninth licence in the WAFL to the Mandurah-Peel region. Geoff Miles
Geoff Miles (born 10 January 1962) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood, West Coast and Geelong in the Australian Football League (AFL), formerly VFL. Miles was primarily a hard running wingman or half back but could also play up forward, especially later in his career. Recruited from Ivanhoe Amateurs in the Victorian Amateur Football Association, Miles spent three seasons at Collingwood, in which he played 31 of a possible 68 senior matches, before being delisted. He moved to Western Australia in 1985 after being recruited by Claremont, for whom he played a total of 73 senior matches over the next seven seasons. Ed Langdon
Ed Langdon (born 1 February 1996) is an Australian rules footballer who currently plays for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Langdon participated in the Auskick program at Glen Iris, Victoria. He played his junior football with the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup. AFL career Originally recruited by the Fremantle Football Club as the club's 3rd, and the 54th overall draft pick in the 2014 AFL draft, he made his debut in Round 22 of the 2015 AFL season against Melbourne at Domain Stadium, after playing well for Fremantle's reserves team, Peel Thunder, in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Connor Blakely (born 2 March 1996) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL), having initially been drafted to the Fremantle Football Club. The East Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Royals, is an Australian rules football club based in Leederville, Western Australia, current playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Formed in 1902 as the Union Football Club, the club entered the WAFL in 1906, changing its name to East Perth. It won its first premiership in 1919, part of a streak of five consecutive premierships. The West Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is an Australian rules football club located in Joondalup, Western Australia. Rory O'Brien (Australian Rules Footballer)
Rory O'Brien (born 28 June 1986) is an Australian rules footballer currently playing for the Peel Thunder Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He is the older brother of Brock O'Brien. O'Brien made his league debut for Peel Thunder in round 1 of the 2005 season and was voted the club's best and fairest player in 2006. He spent the 2008 season at North Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League, before returning to Peel Thunder in 2009. 1999 Westar Rules Season
The 1999 Westar Rules season was the 115th season of the various incarnations of the West Australian Football League and the third as “Westar Rules”. It is most notable for the first winless season in open-age Western Australian football since Midland Junction in their final 1917 season lost all twelve of their games, although South Fremantle in the under-19 1944 competition lost all nineteen of their games. Peel Thunder, who at the completion of the season had won only two of their first sixty Westar Rules matches, achieved the equal second-longest winless season in a major Australian Rules league behind SANFL club Sturt in 1995.
