Pedro Ruiz de Azagra (died 1186) was a Navarrese nobleman and soldier who established the independent Lordship of Albarracín, which lasted until 1284. He was the second son of Rodrigo Pérez de Azagra. His elder brother was Gonzalo Ruiz and his younger brother, later successor, was Fernán Ruiz. Pedro married Toda (or Tota) Pérez, the daughter of another Navarrese nobleman, Pedro de Arazuri. Pedro Ruiz de Villegas y Cevallos II (b. Burgos, c. 1304 - Medina del Campo, 1355) was a Spanish nobility, Spanish noble baron in the service of the Kingdom of Castile and a member of the Order of Santiago. He was the head of the House of Villegas and a descendant of the houses House of Cevallos, of Cevallos and House of Lucio, of Lucio. This town is noted for its ceramics distinguished by having its designs painted on with small dots in a technique called “punteaje.” The couple’s work is noted not only for its precise punteaje, but also the use of “petatillo”, the use of fine crosshatching used to fill in background space, normally associated with Jalisco pottery. Pedro Ruiz (born 1957) is a Colombian Artist, whose focus on conceptual painting is marked by examining the socio-political context of his native Colombia. Career and education He studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, which he attended from 1979 to 1983. After completing his degree, he began exploring painting and printing techniques at Stanley William Hayter's studio, Atelier 17. After spending five years in Paris, he returned to his home in Bogotá. There he began work with the advertising agency McCann, where he became the company's Artistic Director. Major exhibitions and auctions Pedro Ruiz began solo exhibitions as an artist in Bogotá in the late 1980s.
