Pecherska (Kyiv Metro)
Pecherska ( ua, Печерська, ) — is a station on Kyiv Metro's Syretsko-Pecherska Line. Originally planned to open along with the main section of the line which in late 1991, problems with the escalator tunnel meant that work was delayed, and the station finally opened only six years later on 27 December 1997. Designed by architects V.Gnevyshev, M.Alyoshkin and T.Tselokovskaya, Pecherska is a composition that was finalised still under Soviet influence, but slightly re-modeled prior to its opening in mid-1990s. The traditional pylon trivault retains the common white marbled pylons, but adds newly introduced features such as a suspended ceiling that conceals the lighting instruments. Both the suspended vault and the open regions (a pattern which repeats the steps of the pylons) are faced with white and brown aluminium boards respectively. Pecherskyi District
Pecherskyi District ( uk, Печерський район) is an urban district of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It lies within the eponymous historical neighborhood, while also including some other historical areas. The Pechersk ( uk, Печерськ, ) neighborhood is located on the hills adjoining the right bank of the Dnieper. These two geographical entities are often confused with each other. The Pecherskyi District can be considered to be the very heart of Ukraine. History Pechersk is one of the most important cultural areas of Kyiv, the location of the legendary Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Kyiv Monastery of the Caves), from which it received its name (''pechera'' is the Ukrainian for "cave"). The settlement near the ''Lavra'' formed at some point in the 12th century. Kyiv Metro
The Kyiv Metro ( uk, Ки́ївський метрополіте́н, Kyivskyi metropoliten, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv that is owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivsky Metropoliten''.'' It was initially opened on November 6th, 1960, as a single line with five stations. It was the first rapid transit system in Ukraine and the third in the Soviet Union, after the Moscow and St. Petersburg metros. Today, the system consists of three lines and 52 stations, located throughout Kyiv's ten raion (districts), and operates of routes, with used for revenue service and for non-revenue service. At below ground level, Arsenalna station on the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line is the deepest train station in the world. Prince Mikhail Illarionovich Golenishchev-Kutuzov ( rus, Князь Михаи́л Илларио́нович Голени́щев-Куту́зов, Knyaz' Mikhaíl Illariónovich Goleníshchev-Kutúzov; german: Mikhail Illarion Golenishchev-Kutuzov Graf von Smolensk; – ) was a Field Marshal of the Russian Empire. He served as a military officer and a diplomat under the reign of three Romanov monarchs: Empress Catherine II, and Emperors Paul I and Alexander I. Kutuzov was shot in the head twice while fighting the Turks (1774 and 1788) and survived the serious injuries seemingly against all odds. He defeated Napoleon as commander-in-chief using attrition warfare in the Patriotic war of 1812. Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks.
