A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Marissa Garrido
Marissa Garrido Arozamena (May 30, 1926 – January 8, 2021) was a Mexican telenovela playwright and writer who was most active in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. She wrote forty-five adaptations and sixty-five original stories for television. Her most successful creation was ''La leona'' in 1961. The last telenovela she wrote was ''Besos prohibidos'' for TV Azteca in 1999. She was the sister of Mexican actress Amparo Garrido. Biography From a family of artists, Marissa Garrido was born in Mexico City, May 30, 1926. María Esperanza Jacqueline Andere-Aguilar (born August 20, 1938) is a Mexican actress. Life and career Andere was born in a Jewish family located Mexico City on August 20 1938. Her appearances in telenovelas began with 1960's '' Vida por Vida'', and one of her major roles as a villainess was in '' La Madrastra'' opposite Victoria Ruffo and ''Peregrina''. She also starred in '' Soy Tu Dueña'' opposite '' Lucero'' and ''Fernando Colunga''. She was married to José María Fernández Unsáin for more than 30 years, from 1967 to his death in 1997. Ernesto Alonso (February 28, 1917 – August 7, 2007) was a Mexican producer, director, cinematographer and actor. He was nicknamed "''El Señor Telenovela''" ("Mr. Soap Opera") because most of his work centered on telenovelas known around the world. Acting career Ernesto began his career as an uncredited extra in '' La Zandunga'' (1938), a movie starring Lupe Vélez. He then appeared in 1939's "Papacito Lindo". His popularity grew as he starred in many films of the 1940s, including "La Gallina Culeca", "Historia de una gran Amor", "El Padre Morelas", "El Jorobado", "La Corte del Faraon", "Marina", "El Gallero", and "El Precio de la Gloria" in which he starred with his brother Alfonso Ramírez Alonso. Enrique Álvarez Félix (5 April 1934 – 24 May 1996) was a Mexican actor, known for his roles in telenovelas and in films, such as '' The Monastery of the Vultures'' and '' The House of the Pelican''. Family and personal life Enrique Álvarez Félix was the son of Mexican actress María Félix and her first husband, Enrique Álvarez Alatorre. When his parents divorced in 1938, his mother lived for a time at home with her own parents until 1939, when she traveled with Enrique to Mexico City. Soon after, her ex-husband took Álvarez Félix. When his mother married Jorge Negrete he became the stepbrother of Diana Negrete. Carmen Montejo (born María Teresa Sánchez González; May 26, 1925 – February 25, 2013) was a Cuban actress. Biography Real name: María Teresa Sánchez González. Montejo started her career in radio as a child at the age of 6 in Cuba in a show titled ''Abuelita Cata'' transmitted on CMOX. While still in Cuba, she was nicknamed "Muñeca" Sánchez in theatre and because of her golden curls as the Cuban Shirley Temple. Héctor Alexis Gómez (born March 5, 1988) is a Dominican professional baseball infielder who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies and Milwaukee Brewers, and in the KBO League for the SK Wyverns.
