Pazarcık
Pazarcık is a town and district in the southern part of Kahramanmaraş Province in Turkey. The mayor Hayrettin Güngör from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) was elected in the local elections 2019. Kaymakam is Adil Nas. The cement plant is a major source of greenhouse gas. On 6 February 2023, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Pazarcik. Ferruh Bozbeyli
Ahmet Ferruh Bozbeyli (21 January 1927 – 28 July 2019) was a Turkish politician who served as the speaker of Turkish parliament and the chairman of the Democratic party. Early life Born in Pazarcık of Kahramanmaraş Province in 1927. His father’s name was Sıddık. His mother died during his birth. After his elementary education in his home town and secondary education in Antakya in 1947, he travelled to Istanbul for university. He finished the law school of Istanbul University in 1957 and he began serving as an attorney. During the Yassıada trials he was one of the attorneys who defended the former Democrat Party politicians. Hasan Yükselir (born 1955, Pazarcık, Turkey) is a Turkish singer and composer, who predominantly performs Turkish folk songs (Türkü). Life Hasan Yükselir was born in Pazarcık. He spent his childhood and adolescence in Gaziantep. Hasan Yükselir obtained a Bachelor in music from the Gazi University in Ankara and thereafter a Master's degree from the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography of Ankara University specializing in theatre. There, he received instruction in composition from Turgut Aldemir and singing classes from Sevim Çidamlı (soprano). In 1984 Hasan Yükselir took a position at Ankara National Theatre. Dilber Ay (born Dilber Karakaş; 1 January 1956 – 29 April 2019) was a Turkish folk singer, songwriter and TV presenter. Life A member of the Kureyşan tribe, Ay was born on 1 January 1956 in Pazarcık to a family of Yörük and Kurdish descent. 2019 Turkish Local Elections
The Turkish local elections of 2019 were held on Sunday 31 March 2019 throughout the 81 provinces of Turkey. A total of 30 metropolitan and 1,351 district municipal mayors, alongside 1,251 provincial and 20,500 municipal councillors were elected, in addition to numerous local non-partisan positions such as neighbourhood wardens ( muhtars) and elderly people's councils. Climate TRACE (Tracking Real-Time Atmospheric Carbon Emissions) is an independent group which monitors and publishes greenhouse gas emissions within weeks.
