Pavlíkov
Pavlíkov is a market town in Rakovník District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,100 inhabitants. Administrative parts The villages of Chlum, Ryšín, Skřivaň and Tytry are administrative parts of Pavlíkov. Etymology The name is derived from the personal name Pavlík, meaning "Pavlík's (court)". Geography Pavlíkov is located about south of Rakovník and west of Prague. It lies mostly in the Plasy Uplands, only the northern part of the municipal territory extends into the Křivoklát Highlands. The highest point is the hill Senecká hora at above sea level. The stream Rakovnický potok flows through the territory. The northern and southern part of the territory lie within the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. History The first written mention of Pavlíkov is from 1422. Jiří Čadek
Jiří Čadek (7 December 1935 – 20 December 2021) was a Czech footballer who played as a defender. Čadek played his whole professional career for Dukla Prague. He appeared in 328 league matches, though he never scored a league goal. During his career at Dukla, Čadek won the Czechoslovak First League seven times and the Czechoslovak Cup three times. Čadek was a member of the Czechoslovakia national team and played at the 1958 FIFA World Cup in Sweden, where he appeared in the match against Northern Ireland. He died on 20 December 2021, at the age of 86. Jiří Anderle
Jiří Anderle (born 14 September 1936, in Pavlíkov) is a Czech painter and graphic artist. He was of assimilated German ethnic ancestry from paternal side. Career In 1961 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (painting with Antonín Pelc and graphics with Vladimír Silovský). During 1969-73 he worked as an assistant at the UIA Zdeněk Sklenář and Jiří Trnka. In dozens of his works, Anderle expresses the human existential anxiety and general timelessness. Recently, his work has moved closer to abstraction. Anderle has made nearly 100 solo exhibitions throughout the world and his work is represented in some 40 galleries and museums including the New York Metropolitan Museum and Paris's Pompidou Centre. Městys
Městys (or, unofficially or obsolete, městečko (literally "small town")), translated as "market town", is a status conferred on certain municipalities in the Czech Republic, lying in terms of size and importance higher than that of simple ''obec'' (municipality), but lower than that of ''město'' (city, town). Historically a ''městys'' was a locality which had the right to stage livestock markets (and some other "extraordinary" and annual markets), and it is therefore translated as "market town". The term went out of official use in Czechoslovakia in 1954, but was reintroduced in the Czech Republic in 2006. Plasy (; german: Plass) is a town in Plzeň-North District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,800 inhabitants. It is known for its former monastery. Beroun (; german: Beraun) is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 20,000 inhabitants. It lies at the confluence of the Berounka and Litavka rivers. Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area
Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area ( cs, Chráněná krajinná oblast Křivoklátsko, usually abbreviated as Křivoklátsko PLA) is a protected landscape area in the Czech Republic. It lies in the western part of the Central Bohemian Region and a small part of the north-eastern Plzeň Region. Most of the area belongs to the highlands of the Křivoklát Highlands and lies on both banks of the Berounka river. Křivoklátsko PLA was declared in 1978 to protect a unique area with a mosaic of species rich habitats, mainly large stretches of broadleaf Central European temperate forests. Due to this fact the area was included among the UNESCO Biosphere reserves a year prior to being declared a protected landscape area, in 1977. Křivoklát (german: Pürglitz) is a market town in Rakovník District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 700 inhabitants. It is known for the Křivoklát Castle.
