Paul Terracini
Paul Terracini (born 1957) is an Australian composer, conductor, and educator. Life and career Dr Paul Terracini started out his musical career holding a permanent position of Principal Trumpet from 1975 till 1979 within the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. He was Lecturer in Trumpet, Concert Band, Brass Ensemble, and Big Band at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music from 1982 till 1988. He spent about twenty years in Europe, playing Solo Trumpet at the Danish Chamber Players from 1991 till 2007 and touring Asia, South America, the USA and all across Europe. For 16 years he was Chairman of the Storstroms Symphony Orchestra in Denmark. Back in Australia as a trumpet player he appeared as soloist with internationally known ensembles like the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra und the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Australian Opera And Ballet Orchestra
The Opera Australia Orchestra (based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) is a full-time salaried orchestra, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Opera Australia. It is one of three salaried orchestras in Sydney, along with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. The OAO performs almost exclusively in the Opera House Orchestra pit of the Joan Sutherland Theatre. The OAO (and its Melbourne counterpart Orchestra Victoria) were known as The Elizabethan Sydney Orchestra and The Elizabethan Melbourne Orchestra respectively, established by the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust in 1967. These orchestras became the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra in 1991, and State Orchestra of Victoria in 1986. The SOV has since been renamed Orchestra Victoria. Decca Records is a British record label established in 1929 by Edward Lewis (Decca), Edward Lewis. Its U.S. label was established in late 1934 by Lewis, Jack Kapp, American Decca's first president, and Milton Rackmil, who later became American Decca's president. The International Trumpet Guild (ITG) is an international organization of trumpet players. Members include professional and amateur performers, teachers, students, manufacturers, publishers, and others interested in the trumpet. ITG is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization supported by the dues of individual members. Formation ITG was established in 1975. In 1975, the first ITG Conference was held in Bloomington, Indiana; the following year the Guild met as part of the First International Brass Congress in Montreux, Switzerland.
