Paul McShane (rugby League)
Paul McShane (born 19 November 1989) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays as a or for the Castleford Tigers ( Heritage № 961) in the Super League and England at international level. He is the captain of Castleford. He has previously played for the Leeds Rhinos, and on loan from Leeds at Hull F.C., Widnes Vikings and the Hunslet Hawks. He spent two seasons at the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats before joining Castleford in 2015. He was named Man of Steel for the 2020 season. Background McShane was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. 2017 Super League Grand Final
The 2017 Super League Grand Final was the 20th official Grand Final championship-deciding game of the Super League XXII. It was held at Old Trafford, Manchester on 7 October 2017, kick off 18.00. Leeds Rhinos became champions for a record 8th time after beating Castleford Tigers 24–6 in front of a sell out crowd of 72,827. Background Route to Final Castleford Tigers Finishing top of the table in the regular season, Castleford qualified directly to the play-off semi-final where they met St Helens at home. The game went to golden point extra time before a Luke Gale drop goal gave Castleford the win 23–22. League Leaders' Shield
The League Leaders' Shield is a shield awarded to the team finishing the season top of Super League in the sport of rugby league football. Currently, and for most of Super League's history, the championship is decided on the basis of a play-off series with a Grand Final, so the Shield is regarded as a lesser prize. History From 1907 until 1973 the Championship was awarded to the team winning a top-four play-off (excluding the 2 seasons 1962–63 and 1963–64, when the championship was awarded to the top-placed team). From 1907 to 1962 no prize was awarded to the team finishing top. From 1965 to 1973 a 'League Leaders' Trophy' was introduced to reward the team finishing top. In 1996, Super League was formed but continued to use the league to decide the champions until 1998, when they adopted a play-off structure for the championship. Scott Moore (born 23 January 1988) is an English rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Swinton Lions in the Betfred Championship. He previously played in the Super League for St Helens ( Heritage № 1145), Huddersfield Giants, London Broncos, Castleford Tigers ( Heritage № 885), and in the NRL for the North Queensland Cowboys. Harlequins Rugby League
The London Broncos are a professional rugby league club in London, England. The club competes in the RFL Championship. It was a member of Super League from its inaugural season in 1996 until the end of the 2014 season, when they were relegated to the Championship. They returned to the Super League after achieving promotion by winning the Million Pound Game against the Toronto Wolfpack in 2018, but were relegated back to the Championship at the end of the 2019 Super League season after finishing 12th. The club was originally formed in 1980 as Fulham Rugby League Club and entered the Second Division for the 1980–81 season.
