Paul Howley
Paul Howley (born 1955) is the founder and owner of the " That's Entertainment" comics and collectibles store in Worcester MA, established in 1980, and "Entertainment Publishing". In 1997 Howley and two other comic book store owners received the "Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award," from Comic-Con International: San Diego. The award is intended to honor the best comic shops in the world. After he got married in 1973, Howley began buying and selling comic books for the first time at comic book conventions in Boston, and for the next three years continued to do business at conventions in Boston and New York. In 1976 he relocated to Tennessee to help open and manage a store for a comic book retailer, then shortly afterward went to work for another comic book retailer in Ohio, traveling around the country to comic book conventions. That's Entertainment is a comics and collectibles store in Worcester, Massachusetts. The store was first opened by Paul Howley in 1980 at a location on Chandler Street in Worcester. On October 12, 1989, he added a second location with the purchase of a comic shop in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. At the start of business on July 1, 1992, That's Entertainment had been moved into its present location, a former auto dealership on Park Ave. in Worcester, and a retail and events space was created. The store stocks comic books, including alternative comics and new indy titles, trade paperbacks, and related items. The store also carries other trading cards, including sports cards and Magic: The Gathering, along with anime, role-playing games, vintage video games and systems, and other toys and collectibles. Rick Veitch
Richard Veitch (born May 7, 1951) is an American comics artist and writer who has worked in mainstream, underground, and alternative comics. Early life Rick Veitch is a native of the small town of Bellows Falls, Vermont. One of six children, he was raised Catholic. One of his elder brothers was the writer Tom Veitch. Career Early career While still in high school, Veitch and his brother Tom created the comic strip ''Crazymouse'', which ran regularly in ''The Vermont Cynic''. Thomas John Palmer (July 13, 1941 – August 18, 2022) was an American comic book artist best known as an inker for Marvel Comics. Biography Although Tom Palmer created a small amount of penciling work (as well as some cover art and some coloring), the vast majority of his artistic output since the 1960s was as a comic book inker. Mark Marderosian (born 1955) is a prolific cartoonist, animator and children's book illustrator, a comic book artist and noted toy designer. Biography Early life and career Born in Cambridge, Marderosian grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. He started drawing when he was seven years old, inspired after his parents took him to see Pinocchio. After high school, Marderosian worked for advertising agencies and an art supply company, where he prepared paste-ups and mechanicals for catalogs.
