Paul Howard (golfer)
} Paul Howard (born 30 September 1990) is an English professional golfer who played on the Challenge Tour. Howard turned professional in early 2015 after a successful amateur career. In his first season he played on the Challenge Tour and the PGA EuroPro Tour. He had an early success winning the Paul Lawrie Foundation Granite City Classic on the PGA EuroPro Tour, and followed this with a third-place finish in the Wealth Design Invitational and a tie for second place in the PDC Open. In 2016 he played on the Challenge Tour and was joint runner-up in the Swiss Challenge, a stroke behind Alexander Knappe. He qualified for the 2016 Open Championship through Final Qualifying but missed the cut. In 2017 he won the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge by two shots from Simon Forsström, an event reduced to 54 holes by heavy rain. The 2017 Challenge Tour is a series of professional golf tournaments collectively known as the Challenge Tour. The Challenge Tour is Europe's official developmental tour and is organised by the PGA European Tour. It was introduced in 1986 and was originally called the Satellite Tour, before being renamed with its present title in 1990. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2017 season. The 2014 European Amateur Team Championship took place 8–12 July at Linna Golf Oy in Hämeenlinna, Finland. It was the 31st men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The course, situated 5 kilometres east of Hämeenlinna, located in the historical province of Tavastia and the modern province of Kanta-Häme in the south of Finland, 98 kilometres north of Helsinki, was designed by Tim Lobb in cooperation with European Tour Design and opened in 2005. The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). 2015 PGA EuroPro Tour
The 2015 PGA EuroPro Tour, titled as the 2015 HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 14th season of the PGA EuroPro Tour, one of four third-tier tours recognised by the European Tour. In July, it was announced that all PGA EuroPro Tour events, beginning with the Wealth Design Invitational, would receive Official World Golf Ranking points at the minimum level of 4 points for a winner of a 54-hole event and 6 points for a winner of a 72-hole event. New South Wales Amateur
The New South Wales Amateur Championship is the state amateur golf championship of New South Wales, Australia. It was first played in 1898. History In early 1898 Lord Hampden, the Governor of New South Wales, presented a solid silver cup to the Royal Sydney and The Australian golf clubs. The two clubs agreed that the cup would be presented to the winner of a 72-hole bogey competition, with 36 holes played on each of the two courses, and be regarded as the amateur championship of New South Wales. Entry was restricted to members of New South Wales clubs. The 1898 championship was won by Hugh MacNeil who finished 14 holes ahead of the runner-up Ted Simpson. Challenge Tour
The Challenge Tour is the second-tier men's professional golf tour in Europe. It is operated by the PGA European Tour and, as with on the main European Tour and the European Senior Tour, some of the events are played outside Europe. History The tour was introduced in 1986 and was initially called the ''Satellite Tour''. The Order of Merit was introduced in 1989, with the top five players on it winning membership of the European Tour for the following season. The following year the tour was renamed the Challenge Tour. Karl Simon Forsström (born 1 April 1989) is a Swedish professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour, where he has won once. Amateur career Forsström played for AIK Golf Club. He started competing on the Swedish Teen Tour in 2004 and was runner-up at the 2008 Alex Norén Junior Open. In 2009, he won the Viksjö Junior Open and the Skandia Tour Riks #4 - Stockholm. Vierumäki Finnish Challenge
The Finnish Challenge is a golf tournament on the Challenge Tour, Europe's second tier men's professional golf tour. It was first played at Golf Talma in Talma, Finland, from 2001 to 2003, but took a hiatus from 2004 to 2011. The 2012–14 editions of the tournament were played at the Kytäjä Golf Club in Kytäjä, Hyvinkää, Finland. The 2015 tournament was played at Aura Golf Club in Turku.
