Paul Edwards (boxer)
Paul Edwards (born 1 October 1986) is an English former professional boxer who competed from 2008 to 2012. He held the British flyweight title from 2010 to 2011, and challenged once for the Commonwealth flyweight title in 2012. Amateur career Edwards won the 2006 Amateur Boxing Association British flyweight title, when boxing out of the Salisbury ABC. Professional career Edwards made his professional debut on 19 July 2008, winning a four-round points decision over Robert Palmer at the Olympia in Liverpool. He won his next 6 fights before facing Shinny Bayaar for the British flyweight title on 15 Dec 2010, at the Kings Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Edwards won by first round technical knockout (TKO) after Bayaar suffered a cut above his left eye. On 11 June 2011, Edwards made the first defence of his British flyweight title against Chris Edwards at the Olympia, Liverpool. Paul Edwards (footballer, Born 1947)
Paul Francis Edwards (born 7 October 1947) is an English former footballer who played as a defender for Manchester United, Oldham Athletic and Stockport County. Born in Shaw and Crompton, Lancashire, Edwards began his football career with Manchester United, signing his first amateur contract with them on 14 August 1963. He turned professional 18 months later, but it was not for another four years that he made his first team debut, playing in the 3–0 defeat away to Everton on 19 August 1969. His first – and only – goal for the club came in the December of that year. In a League Cup semi-final against Manchester City on 17 December 1969, Edwards let fly with a long-range effort that flew past the City goalkeeper. It proved to be the highlight of Edwards' Manchester United career. In his first full season with the club, Edwards made 28 appearances for Manchester United, but a run of bad form halfway through his second season resulted in a short period in the reserves. Active in the Football League between 1988 and 1996 for five different clubs, Edwards made over 200 career appearances. Career Born in Birkenhead, Edwards began his career in non-League football with Altrincham, before playing in the Football League with Crewe Alexandra, Coventry City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion and Bury. Edwards then returned to non-League football with Hednesford Town. Following his time at Crewe—where he played 108 games, scoring seven goals—he was named in the 1989-1990 Third Division PFA Team of the Year, the first Crewe player to feature in the awards. Paul Edwards (born 1 January 1980) is an English former footballer. He made 246 league appearances in the English Football League. Starting in non-League football, he played for Ashton United and Curzon Ashton, before briefly appearing with League club Doncaster Rovers in 1997. Spells at Knutsford Town and Altrincham followed, before he was picked up by Swindon Town in 1999. After three years he moved on to Welsh club Wrexham, before switching to Blackpool for the 2004–05 season. After two years with Oldham Athletic, he signed with Port Vale in summer 2007. After two years with Vale he dropped into the Conference to play for Barrow. Having won the FA Trophy with the club in 2010, he switched clubs to Fleetwood Town the following year. Paul Michael Edwards (born 16 February 1959 in Chiswick, Greater London) is a retired professional athlete who competed in the men's shot put event during his career. He competed for both Wales and England during his career and twice represented Great Britain at the Summer Olympics: in 1988 and in 1992. Edwards was affiliated with the Walton Athletic Club and Belgrave Harriers in London. He represented Great Britain 43 times and won 11 AAA titles and 5 UK titles. He also represented Great Britain in decathlon and held Welsh national records at shot put, discus and decathlon and won 9 Welsh titles. Doping In 1994 Edwards failed two drugs tests. Paul Christison Edwards (born ) is an English organist and composer of music for the Anglican Church. Biography Paul Edwards was brought up in the village of Turvey in Bedfordshire and educated at St Paul's Choir School and Bedford Modern School. He was a chorister at St Paul's Cathedral for four and a half years and then spent an equal amount of time as lay clerk at Peterborough Cathedral. He has served as organist and choir master at several churches in Bedfordshire, including All Saints, Turvey and St. Paul's Church, Bedford. He is also active as a teacher, piano accompanist and choral singer. Edwards has made a series of recordings of the historic organs of North Bedfordshire. He has transcribed and edited ten volumes of 18th century ''English Organ Music'' published by ANIMUS. The opus numbers of his compositions rise to almost 450.
