Paul Avenel
Paul Avenel (9 October 1823 – 14 April 1902) was a 19th-century French writer, poet, Goguette, goguettier, playwright, Chansonnier (singer), chansonnier and journalist. He was the elder brother of historian . Graduated in 1840 from an école supérieure de commerce, Avenel started studying medicine in 1845 and was an ardent student of Philibert Joseph Roux, Roux, Mathieu Orfila, Orfila and Alfred Velpeau, Velpeau. After the French Revolution of 1848, 1848 Revolution led him into journalism, he collaborated with many literary and political newspapers. :''Pierre Petit is not to be confused with (Jean) Pierre Yves-Petit (1886–1969), another French photographer who usually operated under the name Yvon''. Pierre Lanith Petit (15 August 1832 – 16 February 1909) was a French photographer. He is sometimes credited as Pierre Lamy Petit. Work Petit learned photography in Paris in the workshop of André-Adolphe-Eugène Disdéri (1819–1889) (together with 76 other employees). In 1858, he opened his own workshop in Paris with Antoine René Trinquart, later to be called ''La Photographie des Deux Mondes''. This proved to be very successful and workshops were opened in Baden-Baden and Marseille (in partnership with Emile Cazalis). In his lifetime he made thousands of photographs. Théâtre De L'Athénée (rue Scribe)
Théâtre de l'Athénée or Salle de l'Athénée was the name of a theatre in the basement of a building built in 1865 by the banker Bischoffsheim at 17 rue Scribe in the 9th arrondissement of Paris (near the new, but at the time unfinished opera house, now known as the Palais Garnier). The Athénée was initially small, with a capacity of 760 spectators, but was enlarged to 900 places by the addition of a top gallery in 1867. The interior was decorated by Charles Cambon. The venue was used by a variety of companies, including the Théâtre des Fantaisies-Parisiennes (1869), the Théâtre Lyrique (1871–1872), the Théâtre Scribe (1874–1875), and the Athénée-Comique (1876–1883). Amédée de Jallais (17 December 1826 – 31 January 1909) was a 19th-century French playwright, operetta librettist and chansonnier. The Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens () is a Parisian theatre founded in 1855 by the composer Jacques Offenbach for the performance of opéra bouffe and operetta. Théâtre Des Variétés
The Théâtre des Variétés is a theatre and "salle de spectacles" at 7–8, boulevard Montmartre, 2nd arrondissement, in Paris. It was declared a monument historique in 1974. History It owes its creation to the theatre director Mademoiselle Montansier (Marguerite Brunet). Imprisoned for debt in 1803 and frowned upon by the government, a decree of 1806 ordered her company to leave the Théâtre du Palais-Royal which then bore the name of "Variétés". The decree's aim was to move out Montansier's troupe to make room for the company from the neighbouring Théâtre-Français, which had stayed empty even as the Variétés-Montansier had enjoyed immense public favour. Strongly unhappy about having to leave the theatre by 1 January 1807, the 77-year-old Montansier gained an audience with Napoleon himself and received his help and protection.
