Paul Albert Hartman
Paul Albert Hartman (born November 25, 1918, in Grafton, Massachusetts; died January 30, 1990) was an American aviator who joined the Royal Canadian Air Force to fight in World War II. His notable contributions to aviation history include his career in the RCAF, where he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (United Kingdom), DFC, Air Force Cross (United Kingdom), AFC, and Canadian Forces' Decoration, CD. In 1942, he was posted to the Royal Air Force, RAF 69th squadron in Malta. He also piloted the Silver Dart II, and served as a test pilot for CF-100 and F-86E acceptance trials. Hartman was inducted into the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame in 1973. Grafton is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 19,664 at the 2020 census. The town consists of the North Grafton, Grafton, and South Grafton geographic areas, each with a separate ZIP Code. Incorporated in 1735, the town is home to a Nipmuc village known as '' Hassanamisco'' Reservation, the Willard House and Clock Museum, Community Harvest Project, and the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Grafton operates the state's largest on-call fire department, with 74 members.
