Pattambi is a town taluk and municipality in the Palakkad district of the state of Kerala, India. It is also the administrative headquarters of the Pattambi Taluk. Pattambi is located along the banks of Bharathappuzha river. A Mini Civil Station also functions here to provide government related services. Palakkad District () is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala. It was carved out from the southeastern region of the former Malabar District on 1 January 1957. It is located at the centre of Kerala. It is the largest district in the state since 2006. The city of Palakkad is the district headquarters. South Malabar
South Malabar refers to a geographical area of the southwestern coast of India covering some parts of the present-day Kerala. South Malabar covers the regions included in present-day Kozhikode Tehsil, taluk of Kozhikode district, the whole area of Malappuram district, Chavakkad taluk of Thrissur district, and Palakkad district, excluding parts of Chittur, Palakkad, Chittur taluk. The Fort Kochi region of Kochi city also historically belongs to South Malabar. Malabar District, also known as Malayalam District, was an administrative district on the southwestern Malabar Coast of Bombay Presidency (1792-1800) and Madras Presidency (1800-1947) in British India, and independent India's Madras State (1947-1956). Regional Agricultural Research Station, Pattambi (RARS Pattambi) is a research Station under the Central Zone of Kerala Agricultural University at Pattambi in Palakkad district of Kerala, India. This research station was established in 1927. Later in 1930 it was renamed as ''Agricultural Research Station'' and later in 1962 it was renamed as ''Central Rice Research Station''. Kerala Agricultural University took over this Station in 1971. The station was upgraded to the status of RARS in 1981 and made the headquarters of the Central Zone of Kerala Agricultural University. Muhammed Muhsin (born 17 February, 1986) also known as Muhammed Muhassin is an Indian politician and a Member of 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly from Pattambi Constituency in Palakkad district. He is the youngest MLA in 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly. He defeated the three-term senior Congress Party MLA, CP Mohammed with a margin of 7404 Votes in 2016 Kerala Assembly Election.
