Patrik Gardesten
Brigadgeneral, Brigadier General Jan Patrik Gardesten (born 7 July 1967) is an officer in the Swedish Amphibious Corps. He currently serves as Chief of Navy (Sweden), Deputy Chief of Navy since 2022. Gardesten had previously served as commander of the 2nd Marine Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment (Sweden), 1st Marine Regiment (2010–2013), head of the J3 Operations Department (2016–2018) in the Joint Forces Command and as regimental commander of the 1st Marine Regiment (Sweden), 1st Marine Regiment (2018–2022) Early life Gardesten was born on 7 July 1967 in Motorp Parish, Kalmar Municipality, Sweden. Gardesten enrolled at the Kustjägarna, Coastal Ranger School (''Kustjägarskolan'') in Vaxholm Coastal Artillery Regiment for his Conscription in Sweden, mandatory military service in 1988. Kalmar Municipality (''Kalmar kommun'') is a municipality in Kalmar County, southeastern Sweden. The city of Kalmar is the municipal seat. The present municipality was created in 1971, when the ''City of Kalmar'' was amalgamated with five surrounding rural municipalities.
