Patrick Shaw (cyclist)
Patrick Shaw (born 19 February 1986) is an Australian former racing cyclist. Career Shaw's first victory was stage race Tour of the Southern Grampians in 2007. At the end of the 2009 season, he considered retiring due to failing to get a contract with a European team, but decided to continue riding. 2010 was a successful season for Shaw, as he won stage races Tour of Toowoomba and Tour of Gippsland, along with a stage victory and second place in the Tour of Geelong and one day race Launceston to New Norfolk Classic. These victories gave him first in the Scody Cup National Road Series. The following year was Shaw's first year as a professional with UCI Continental team . During this season, he booked the overall win of the Tour of Toowoomba, along with the second stage. Shaw left the team for the 2013 season, when he rode for amateur team Satalyst Giant Racing. The Oceania Road Championships are a series of road cycling races held annually to determine the Oceanian champion in each event. The event has been held since 1995 and consists of an elite and under-23 men's and an elite women's road race and time trial. The Tour de Korea is an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in South Korea since 2000 as part of the UCI Asia Tour. It was rated by the International Cycling Union (UCI) as a 2.2 category race between 2005 and 2013, then promoted to 2.1 category in 2014. The race is organised by the Korea Cycling Federation. The 2016 Tour Down Under was a road cycling stage race that took place between 19 and 24 January in and around Adelaide, South Australia. It was the 18th edition of the Tour Down Under and was the first event of the 2016 UCI World Tour. The defending champion was Rohan Dennis (). Simon Gerrans () took the lead after the third stage of the race. He maintained his lead through the remaining three stages to win the race for the fourth time in his career.
