Patrick McGuire (footballer)
Patrick McGuire (born 27 September 1987) is an English former semi-professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is the current manager of Frickley Athletic, as well as head coach of the Yorkshire football team. Career Born in Baildon, McGuire signed with Bradford City aged 11, before graduating through the Bradford City 'Centre of Excellence' and signed a youth team scholarship at the age of 15, ensuring him a full-time apprenticeship as a footballer when leaving school a year later. At the beginning of March 2006, McGuire was offered a full professional contract with the club. He made his debut in a 2–1 defeat to Scunthorpe United in the Football League Trophy and also made a substitute appearance for Bradford in 2006 with Bradford winning 4–0 in the FA Cup First Round against Crewe Alexandra. Pat McGuire was the Illinois State Senator for the 43rd district from his appointment in 2012 to January 13, 2021. The 43rd district includes all or part of Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Elwood, Fairmont, Joliet, Lockport, Manhattan, Preston Heights, Rockdale and Romeoville. Prior to his service in the Illinois General Assembly, he served as the Will County Treasurer and the Braidwood City Clerk. Paddy McGuire (né McQuire, 1884 - November 16, 1923) was an Irish actor and comedian. Biography Paddy McQuire was born in Ireland in 1884 or 1885. A burlesque comedian with a rubber face, McQuire was a regular supporting player in the films of Charlie Chaplin at the Essanay studio, and he joined Essanay alumnus Ben Turpin at the Vogue company in 1916. Vogue starred or co-starred him in two-reel comedies, first billing him as "Paddy McQuire" and then "Paddy McGuire." In 1917 he joined the Fox comedy company, under the direction of future comedy star Charley Chase. By 1920 McGuire was with the Al Christie studio.''Exhibitors Herald'', Feb. 7, 1920, p. 87. Patrick McGuire (1889 – 12 October 1916) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Manchester City as a full-back. Personal life McGuire attended Corpus Christi School, Miles Platting and Woodhouses School, Failsworth. He was a bricklayer by trade. In May 1915, almost one year into the First World War, McGuire enlisted as a private in the Manchester Regiment. McGuire was killed while attacking a German trench system near Flers, France on 12 October 1916, during the Battle of the Somme.
