Patrick McGuire (footballer)
Patrick McGuire (born 27 September 1987) is an English former semi-professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is the current manager of Frickley Athletic, as well as head coach of the Yorkshire football team. Career Born in Baildon, McGuire signed with Bradford City aged 11, before graduating through the Bradford City 'Centre of Excellence' and signed a youth team scholarship at the age of 15, ensuring him a full-time apprenticeship as a footballer when leaving school a year later. At the beginning of March 2006, McGuire was offered a full professional contract with the club. He made his debut in a 2–1 defeat to Scunthorpe United in the Football League Trophy and also made a substitute appearance for Bradford in 2006 with Bradford winning 4–0 in the FA Cup First Round against Crewe Alexandra. Bradford
Bradford is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Bradford district in West Yorkshire, England. The city is in the Pennines' eastern foothills on the banks of the Bradford Beck. Bradford had a population of 349,561 at the 2011 census; the second-largest population centre in the county after Leeds, which is to the east of the city. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Farsley Celtic F
Farsley is a town in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough, West Yorkshire, England to the west of Leeds city centre, east of Bradford. Farsley is situated between the two cities and near the town of Pudsey. Before April 1974, Farsley was part of the Borough of Pudsey. Before 1934 it was its own urban district council. It had its own council offices opposite the cenotaph, which is now a dental practice. The ward of Calverley and Farsley also includes the estate of Swinnow and some northern parts of Pudsey. During the industrial revolution, Farsley was a centre for wool processing as there were a number of mills in the area. Frickley Athletic Football Club is a football club based in South Elmsall, West Yorkshire, England. They are currently members of the and play at Westfield Lane. History Although the club itself claims it was formed in 1910, the team was active as early as 1908 when it was a member of the South Yorkshire League. The football team was only one arm of the Frickley Athletic Club, which had been formed to give miners at the Frickley Colliery a recreational outlet. In a 1908 Yorkshire Telegraph and Star newspaper article the club was referred to as Frickley Colliery Athletic, but as the years went by the Athletic suffix was used less often. The Northern Counties East Football League is a semi-professional English football league. It has two divisions – Premier Division and Division One – which stand at the ninth and tenth levels of the football pyramid respectively. Guiseley ( ) is a town in metropolitan borough of the City of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is situated south of Otley and Menston and is now a north-western suburb of Leeds. It sits in the Guiseley and Rawdon ward of Leeds City Council and the Pudsey parliamentary constituency.
