Pato Branco
Pato Branco ("White Duck" in English) is a municipality in the state of Paraná in Brazil. The municipality covers 537,8 km² (206.7 mi²) and has a population of 83,843 (2020 IBGE estimate). Pato Branco started off as a village in 1942 and was given status as a city December 14, 1952. It has two private colleges, Faculdade Mater Dei and Faculdade de Pato Branco, and a campus of the Federal University of Technology - Paraná. The city has experienced a positive economic development throughout the last few years. Pato Branco is located 760 meters above sea level and has a sub-tropical climate with warm summers and mild winters, morning frost being usual during the winter season. Occasional snowfall. There is no defined period of drought. The coldest month of the year is July with an average temperature of 14.2°C (57.6°F). January is the warmest month with an average of 22.5°C (72.5°F). Alexandre Rodrigues da Silva (; born 2 September 1989), commonly known as Alexandre Pato () or just Pato, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a striker. Pato began his career as a youth player for Internacional in 2000, making his debut in 2006 at age 16. He went on to score 12 goals in 27 appearances and helped them win the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup. Juvenal Loureiro Cardoso Airport is the airport serving Pato Branco, Brazil. It is operated by the Municipality of Pato Branco under the supervision of Aeroportos do Paraná (SEIL). History The city had received commercial flights from Azul Brazilian Airlines since January 10, 2019, when a weekly service to the airport from Curitiba was started, turning into a semi-daily service, with flights from Monday through Friday. However, the airline temporarily stopped the service on March 23, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, predicting the service would resume in late June, but the flight to the airport was actually resumed in late December 2021, again with a weekly service.
