Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge
Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge is located in the U.S. state of Wyoming and includes 16,807 acres (68 km2). The refuge is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, both agencies within the U.S. Department of the Interior. The refuge is divided into four sections adjacent to Pathfinder Reservoir and includes three campgrounds and three boat ramps. It is located in southern Natrona and northern Carbon counties. Pathfinder NWR is managed from the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge which is located in Colorado. The reservoir is used by numerous migratory bird species. The Pronghorn is commonly found on the refuge. Wyoming Highway 220 (WYO 220) is the principal highway connecting the city of Casper, Wyoming, Casper to US 287/WYO 789. Alcova is a census-designated place (CDP) in Natrona County, Wyoming, United States. It is part of the Casper, Wyoming Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 34 at the 2020 census. Wyoming's center of population is located in the small Town of Alcova. Alcova and the nearby reservoir, Alcova Lake, are popular vacation spots with many seasonal residents. The Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge is a United States National Wildlife Refuge located in north-central Colorado. It is one of over 560 national wildlife refuges which manages and protects natural resources for future generations. Pathfinder Reservoir
Pathfinder Reservoir is located in the U.S. state of Wyoming on the North Platte River between Casper and Rawlins. It sits 47 miles (76 km) southwest of Casper, in Carbon County and Natrona County. The reservoir was created by Pathfinder Dam and has a storage capacity of . The shoreline consists of 117 miles (188 km). Much of the water used to serve the 335,000 acre (1360 km2) North Platte Project is stored here.
