Pat Ryan (Cork Hurler)
Patrick Ryan (born 23 July 1976) is an Irish hurling manager, coach, selector and former player. He usually played at midfield for club side Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. Ryan first played competitive hurling at colleges level with the North Monastery, winning an All-Ireland medal in 1994. His inter-county career with Cork spanned eight seasons, beginning as a member of the under-21 team in 1996, with whom he won an All-Ireland medal. After joining the Cork senior team in 1997, Ryan won an All-Ireland medal in 1999, as well as Munster and National League titles. As a player with the Sarsfields club, he won two county championship medals. As a manager, coach and selector, Ryan has guided the Sarsfields club to two county championship titles, while he also helped the Cork senior team to a Munster title in 2017. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. Munster Under-21 Hurling Championship
The Munster GAA Hurling Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Munster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Munster. The championship was contested as the Munster Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2018 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2019. It is sponsored by Bord Gáis Energy. The final, currently held in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during a three-week period, and the results determine which team receives the J. J. John Browne (hurler)
John Browne (born 1977) is an Irish hurling manager and former hurler who played for Cork Senior Championship club Blackrock. He played for the Cork senior hurling team over a seven-year period, during which time he usually lined out as a left corner-back. Browne's brothers, Alan and Richard, also played for Cork. Browne began his hurling career at club level with Blackrock. He broke onto the club's senior team straight out of the minor grade in 1995 was part of three Cork Senior Championship-winning teams - 1998, 1999 and 2001. Browne's early prowess also saw him selected for University College Cork, with whom he won a Fitzgibbon Cup title. At inter-county level, Browne was part of the successful Cork under-21 team that won the All-Ireland Championship in 1997. He joined the Cork senior team in 1998. Glen Rovers GAA
Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Newtownshandrum GAA
Newtownshandrum GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the small village of Newtownshandrum in County Cork, Ireland. The club, situated in half a parish of about 800 people, was founded in 1896 and is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. In senior hurling Newtownshandrum compete annually in the Cork Senior Club Hurling Championship, which they have won four times as of 2009. Imokilly GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling division in the east of Cork, Ireland. The division includes towns such as Midleton, Cobh, and Youghal. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. Blackrock National Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located on the southside of Cork City, Ireland. The club was founded in 1883 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. No other Cork-based GAA club has won more Senior County Hurling titles or All-Ireland Club Championships. The Dr Harty Cup, officially known as the Munster Colleges Senior A Hurling Championship, is an annual inter-schools hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-schools hurling competition in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year, except on two occasions, since 1918. Ardscoil Ris are the centenary Champions winning the title in 2018. The final, usually held in February, serves as the culmination of a series of games played between October and January.
