Pasquale Scutari
Pasquale Scutari is an Italian linguist and Albanologist. Scutari was born in the Arbereshe San Costantino Albanese in the Province of Potenza, southern Italy in 1952. He graduated from the "Istituto Magistrale di Lagonegro" and later he enrolled in the Faculty of Philology of the University of Bari in 1976. As a very fond of Arbereshe language person, he has participated in many convents and seminars, between others "La diversità linguistica, patrimonio culturale della Basilicata" (The linguistic diversity, cultural patrimony of Basilicata), held in San Costantino Albanese in 2004. He received a docent title from the University of Basilicata in 2003 with the title "Operatore linguistico e culturale di area arbëreshe" (Linguistic and cultural operator in the Arbereshe area). Francesco Altimari
Francesco Altimari ( sq, Françesko Altimari, link=no) is an Italian scholar in the field of Albanology. He is honorary member of the Academy of Sciences of Albania (2006), external member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo (2008) and full professor (1991) of the Albanology section of the University of Calabria. Early life Altimari was born on 21 February 1955 in San Demetrio Corone in Calabria, Italy and is of Arbëreshë descent. After finishing the lyceum in his hometown in 1973, he graduated from the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy of the University of Calabria in 1978. The Albanian language is composed of many dialects, divided into two major groups: Gheg Albanian, Gheg and Tosk Albanian, Tosk. The Shkumbin river is roughly the geographical dividing line, with Gheg spoken north of the Shkumbin and Tosk south of it.
