Pasadena is an inner southern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Mitcham. History ''Panorama'' Post Office opened on 1 August 1947 and was renamed ''Pasadena'' in 1982. Electoral District Of Elder
Elder is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after nineteenth-century businessman and philanthropist Sir Thomas Elder. Elder is an 18.3 km² suburban electorate in Adelaide's inner south, taking in the suburbs of Clapham, Clovelly Park, Colonel Light Gardens, Cumberland Park, Daw Park, Hawthorn, Lower Mitcham, Melrose Park, Mitchell Park, Panorama, Pasadena, St Marys, Tonsley, and Westbourne Park. Elder was created as a marginal Labor electorate at the 1991 electoral redistribution taking suburbs in from much of the abolished Walsh and also from the redistributed Mitchell. Centennial Park Cemetery
Centennial Park Cemetery is a large, 40.5 hectare (or 100 acre) cemetery in the southern Adelaide suburb of Pasadena, located on Goodwood Road. It is the largest cemetery in the southern suburbs and one of the largest in the Adelaide metropolitan area. It is jointly owned by the local government areas of the City of Mitcham and the City of Unley, with a Board of Management that includes two serving councillors from each council. History The cemetery was opened in June 1936, during South Australia's centennial year, although the first burial was not until 1938, when there were only ten in that year. The cemetery contains a war graves plot known locally as Adelaide War Cemetery (marked on the plan as War Graves Plots), established by the Australian Army in 1942, holding the graves of 215 Commonwealth service personnel of World War II, primarily from local hospitals. Springbank Secondary College (formerly known as Pasadena High School) is a public high school in the suburb of Pasadena in southern Adelaide, South Australia. The inclusive school is on the corner of Goodwood Road and Daws Road. Springbank is a specialist basketball school. In 2017 it also adopted a science, technology, engineering, arts and maths focus, and announced formal links with the Australian Science and Mathematics School and Flinders University. The school's basketball academy is led by Brendan Mann - said to be one of the best junior players ever to play in SA. Mann played over 200 NBL games for Canberra, Brisbane and Newcastle. The City of Mitcham is a local government area in the foothills of southern Adelaide, South Australia. Within its bounds is Flinders University, South Australia's third largest, and the notable, affluent suburb of Springfield which contains some of the city's most expensive properties.
