Parliamentary Christian Fellowship
The Parliamentary Christian Fellowship, also known as the Parliamentary prayer group, involves a number of gatherings of Christian politicians in the Australian parliament, from small informal prayer gatherings to the annual National Prayer Breakfast. Overview The Parliamentary Christian Fellowship is a cross-party grouping for MPs and Senators. Its activities include meetings for prayer and Bible study followed by a discussion. The group, at first known as the Federal Parliamentary Christian Fellowship, was initiated by the Labor Party front-bencher, Frank Crean in 1968. The first organisers were reported to be Evan Adermann of the National Party and Mervyn Lee of the Liberal Party. Its first secretary was the longtime Labor Whip, Gil Duthie, who only stood down from the role in 1975. Devoted to fellowship, rather than politics, it has rarely made public statements. Michael Tate
Michael Carter Tate AO (born 6 July 1945) is a legal academic and former Australian Labor Party politician who later became an ambassador and then a Catholic priest. Early life and education Tate was born in Sydney in 1945. He was educated at St Virgil's College in Hobart, and then studied law at the University of Tasmania, where he resided at St. John Fisher College and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours in 1968. Amanda Stoker
Amanda Jane Stoker ( Fell; born 30 October 1982) is an Australian politician who became a Senator for Queensland in 2018 until 2022. She is a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland (LNP) and sits with the Liberal Party in federal parliament. She was appointed to the Senate after the retirement of George Brandis. Christopher Pyne
Christopher Maurice Pyne (born 13 August 1967) is a retired Australian politician. As a member of the Liberal Party, he held several ministerial positions in the Howard, Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison governments, and served as a member of parliament (MP) for the division of Sturt from 1993 until his retirement in 2019. Sussan Penelope Ley (pron. , "Susan Lee"; ; born 14 December 1961) is an Australian politician who has been deputy leader of the Liberal Party since May 2022. John Vance Langmore (born 3 September 1939) is an Australian academic and politician. He was a member of the Australian House of Representatives from 1984 to 1996. He studied for a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Melbourne, a Master of Economics degree from Monash University, and a Diploma of Developmental Economics from the University of Cambridge. Bronwyn Bishop
Bronwyn Kathleen Bishop (née Setright; born 19 October 1942) is an Australian former politician. She was a member of federal parliament for almost 30 years, the longest period of service by a woman.
