Paris Basketball is a French professional basketball club based in Paris. The club currently plays in the LNB Pro A, the first division of basketball in France, and the EuroCup. The club was founded in 2018 by David Kahn and Eric Schwartz. The team plays its home games at the Halle Georges Carpentier. Three years after its establishment, Paris promoted to the first-level Pro A for the first time. History The club started as a project to bring a big basketball club to the city of Paris, led by David Kahn, former director of the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). LNB Pro A
The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. At the end of the regular season, the top eight teams qualify for the playoffs. The two teams with the worst regular season records are relegated to the 2nd-tier Pro B. In sports, a winning percentage is the fraction of games or matches a team or individual has won. The statistic is commonly used in standings or rankings to compare teams or individuals. It is defined as wins divided by the total number of matches played (i.e. wins plus draws plus losses). Evans Ganapamo (born 19 August 1994) is a French-Central African professional basketball player for Bangui Sporting Club. He played college basketball at the University of New Orleans and Prairie View A&M University. Internationally, Ganapamo represents the Central African Republic national team. Early life and college career Ganapamo was born in France to Central African parents and moved to the United States at age 12 where his father was working as a doctor. He played college basketball for the University of New Orleans after receiving a scholarship. Ganapamo suffered from injuries and a debilitating staphylococcus infection in his second season. Jevohn Shepherd (born April 8, 1986) is a Canadian basketball executive who is the vice-president of basketball operations and general manager for the Ottawa Blackjacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He is a former professional basketball player, playing the majority of his career oversees. Shepherd played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines, and was a longtime member of the Canadian men's national basketball team. Kristopher Carlos Joseph (born December 17, 1988) is a Canadian professional basketball player for Ottawa Blackjacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Daniel James Dillon (born 19 March 1986) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Waverley Falcons of the NBL1 South. He played college basketball for the Arizona Wildcats before starting his professional career in the Australian NBL. He has since played in Europe and Asia.
