''Parchhain'' (Shadow) is a 1952 Hindi romantic melodrama film directed by V. Shantaram. The production company was Rajkamal Kalamandir. The story and dialogue were by Shams Lakhnavi, with cinematography by G. Balakrishna. Music direction was by C. Ramchandra and the lyricists were Noor Lakhnavi, Vasant Desai. The cast included V. Sandhya Shantaram
Sandhya Shantaram (née Vijaya Deshmukh) is an Indian actress born in 1938. She is best known for her appearances in various Hindi and Marathi films directed by her husband V. Shantaram, in 1950s-1960s, most notably ''Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje'' (1955), ''Do Aankhen Barah Haath'' (1958), ''Navrang'' (1959), Marathi film '' Pinjra'' (1972) and ''Amar Bhoopali'' (1951). Career Sandhya was discovered by V. Shantaram when he was seeking new faces to cast for his film ''Amar Bhoopali'' (1951). The young woman did not have outstanding features or talent, but what struck the filmmaker was that she had a good voice, one that strangely resembled that of his second wife, the actress Jayshree. Lalita Pawar (18 April 1916 – 24 February 1998) was a prolific Indian actress, who later became famous as a character actress, appearing in over 700 films in Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati cinema. Rajkamal Kalamandir was a noted film production company and studio in Mumbai. It was established by V. Shantaram in 1942, after he left Prabhat Films. The studio produced films both in Hindi and Marathi, and it was best known for '' Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani'' (1946), ''Amar Bhoopali'' (1951), ''Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje'' (1955), ''Do Aankhen Barah Haath'' (1957), ''Navrang'' (1959) and '' Pinjra'' (1972). Asit Baran (19 November 1913 – 27 November 1984) was an Indian actor, singer and theater personality. Early life Asit Baran was born as Asit Baran Mukherjee in 1913 in Kolkata, British India. His nickname was Kalo. He took up a job in the telegraph workshop at Alipore. He learnt Tabla from Jnan Prakash Ghosh and joined in Akashbani Kolkata as Tabla player. Vasant Desai (1912–1975) was an Indian film music composer, most remembered for his score in V. Saroj Khan (born Nirmala Nagpal; 22 November 1948 – 3 July 2020) was an Indian dance choreographer in Hindi cinema. She was born in Bombay State (present day Maharashtra), India.
