Parannoul (; born 2001) is an anonymous South Korean shoegaze musician. He has released three solo albums: ''Let's Walk on the Path of a Blue Cat'' (2020), '' To See the Next Part of the Dream'' (2021), and ''After the Magic'' (2023). He also released a split album, ''Downfall of the Neon Youth'' (2021) with fellow shoegaze musicians Asian Glow and sonhos tomam conta. Parannoul has also released music under other pseudonyms, including ''Rough and Beautiful Place'' (2022) as Mydreamfever, as well as several now-deleted albums as laststar. Career Parannoul released his first album ''Let's Walk on the Path of a Blue Cat'' in 2020 and '' To See the Next Part of the Dream'' in 2021 through Bandcamp. After The Magic
''After the Magic'' is the third studio album and the major label debut by South Korean shoegaze musician Parannoul. It was released on January 28, 2023 through Topshelf Records. The album was preceded by two singles: "Insomnia" on November 9, 2022, and "We Shine at Night" on January 11, 2023. Parannoul described the album as "not what you expected, but what I always wanted", and stated it was inspired by dreams he had after finishing his previous album, '' To See the Next Part of the Dream''. Critical reception Upon its release, ''After the Magic'' was generally well-received by music critics. ''To See the Next Part of the Dream'' is the second studio album by South Korean musician Parannoul. It was independently released on 23 February 2021. On 23 February 2022, a follow-up extended play titled ''White Ceiling / Black Dots Wandering Around'' was released to mark the album's one year anniversary, composed of B-sides not included on the initial album. Background As of May 2021, the person behind Parannoul remains anonymous, with none knowing their name, age, or whether the album was created with the help of any others. The text accompanying the album's release on Bandcamp includes Parannoul talking of themselves as an “active loser,” “below average in height, appearance and everything else,” with “singing skills hatare fucking awful”. The album includes themes of nostalgia and contains many references to the culture of the early 2000s, such as Welcome to the N.H.K., Goodnight Punpun, and All About Lily Chou-Chou.
