Heaven
Heaven or the heavens, is a common religious cosmological or transcendent supernatural place where beings such as deities, angels, souls, saints, or venerated ancestors are said to originate, be enthroned, or reside. According to the beliefs of some religions, heavenly beings can descend to Earth or incarnate and earthly beings can ascend to Heaven in the afterlife or, in exceptional cases, enter Heaven alive. Paradiso (Hayley Westenra Album)
''Paradiso'' is a studio album by New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra, in collaboration with Italian maestro Ennio Morricone. It was released worldwide beginning 18 April 2011 in New Zealand. ''Paradiso'' features new compositions written by Morricone for Westenra, as well as Westenra performing some of his best-known film compositions in vocalese. Westenra also contributed new English lyrics for some of Morricone's most well-known pieces, such as "Gabriel's Oboe", "La Califfa", and "Malena". Westenra said she not only was inspired by "Gabriel's Oboe" (the theme from the 1986 film classic '' The Mission''), but also contributed lyrics to " Whispers In A Dream" (music: "Gabriel's Oboe") in the spirit of world peace. Tintoretto ( , , ; born Jacopo Robusti; late September or early October 1518Bernari and de Vecchi 1970, p. 83.31 May 1594) was an Italian painter identified with the Venetian school. His contemporaries both admired and criticized the speed with which he painted, and the unprecedented boldness of his brushwork. For his phenomenal energy in painting he was termed Il Furioso ("The Furious"). His work is characterised by his muscular figures, dramatic gestures and bold use of perspective, in the Mannerist style. Life The years of apprenticeship Tintoretto was born in Venice in 1518. Oil painting is the process of painting with pigments with a medium of drying oil as the binder. It has been the most common technique for artistic painting on wood panel or canvas for several centuries, spreading from Europe to the rest of the world. The advantages of oil for painting images include "greater flexibility, richer and denser colour, the use of layers, and a wider range from light to dark". But the process is slower, especially when one layer of paint needs to be allowed to dry before another is applied. Il Paradiso
''Il Paradiso'' is a massive (22 x 9 meters) oil painting on canvas that dominates the main hall of the Doge's Palace, which hosted the ''Great Council of Venice''. It is one of the largest paintings on canvas in the world and was painted by Jacopo Robusti, known more commonly as Tintoretto, son of a Venetian dyer (''tintore'' means dyer, and ''tintoretto'' little dyer, in Italian). The painting features a heavenly scene with depictions of various religious figures such as the portrayal of Justina, patron saint of Padua (whose celebration day is October 7, the date of the Battle of Lepanto). From the center of the stage a path of light opens up towards the Empyrean, allowing the souls of the Just to ascend (with the assistance of angels) and God's Grace to descend upon the Doge. Paradiso (immersive Theater Experience)
Paradiso is an immersive theater experience and interactive game that was created by Michael Counts. It is expected to span four chapters, the first of which opened in New York City during July 2016. Counts drew inspiration for Paradiso from Dante's ''Divine Comedy'' and the experience features elements of crime noir. Paradiso: Chapter 1 The first chapter's premise places ten participants in a locked apartment that they must escape while also evading the Virgil Corporation, a shadowy crime gang. Players must solve puzzles within a certain span of time, otherwise they will not be able to complete the entire experience. Special effects such as 3D technology and actors are used during the experience to enhance game play. Paradisio was a Belgian eurodance group formed in 1994. ''Paradiso'' is a novel by Cuban writer José Lezama Lima, the only one completed and published during his lifetime. Written in an elaborately baroque style, the narrative follows the childhood and youth of José Cemí, and depicts many scenes which resonate with Lezama's own life as a young poet in Havana. Many of the characters reappear in Lezama's posthumous novel ''Oppiano Licario'', which was published in Mexico in 1977. Background The novel was originally published in Cuba in an edition regarded by the Argentine writer Julio Cortázar as being highly unsatisfactory, in part because of Lezama's poor punctuation and stylistic errors. With Lezama's blessing, Cortázar personally edited the text for a subsequent Mexican edition, correcting "thousands of errors and ambiguities." ''Paradiso'' (; Italian for "Paradise" or "Heaven") is the third and final part of Dante's ''Divine Comedy'', following the ''Inferno'' and the ''Purgatorio''. It is an allegory telling of Dante's journey through Heaven, guided by Beatrice, who symbolises theology. In the poem, Paradise is depicted as a series of concentric spheres surrounding the Earth, consisting of the Moon, Mercury, Venus, the Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Fixed Stars, the Primum Mobile and finally, the Empyrean. It was written in the early 14th century. Allegorically, the poem represents the soul's ascent to God. ''Paradiso'' is a live DVD released by the rock band Fiction Plane on 23 March 2009 through XIII Bis Records. Recording and production The video was recorded on 7 December 2008 at the band's sold-out performance in Amsterdam at the Paradiso concert venue. ''Paradiso'' was mixed by Ash Howes (Kylie Minogue, James Morrison, Eurythmics) and mastered by Andy Walters ( U2, The Cure, Radiohead) at Abbey Road Studios. The cover art was contributed by Alex Lake, who, in addition to supplying the artwork for Fiction Plane's two previous releases ''Bitter Forces and Lame Race Horses'' (2005) and ''Left Side of the Brain'' (2007), has also worked with Keane, Rufus Wainwright, and Amy Winehouse.
