Paper Tiger (hip Hop Producer)
John Samels, better known by his stage name Paper Tiger, is a hip hop producer and DJ from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. He is a founding member of the indie hip hop collective Doomtree. History Paper Tiger released the 7-inch vinyl single, ''Cloquet'', in December 2009. His first solo album, ''Made Like Us'', was released in July 2010. It features vocal contributions from Dessa of Doomtree and Maggie Morrison of Digitata. Chris Riemenschneider of '' Star Tribune'' described the album as "a moody, sometimes dark but also surprisingly elegant and cinematic collection, recalling DJ Shadow's best stuff." He released ''Summer EP'' in August 2012 and ''Beat Tape'' the next month. Aaron Mader (born July 21, 1982), better known by his stage name Lazerbeak, is an American record producer, singer, and guitarist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has been a member of Doomtree, The Plastic Constellations, Mixed Blood Majority, Shredders, and Night Stone. Early life Lazerbeak was born Aaron Mader on July 21, 1982. He graduated from Hopkins High School. Career Lazerbeak released a collaborative album with Mike Mictlan, titled '' Hand Over Fist'', in 2008. ''Never Better'' is the third solo studio album by American rapper P.O.S. It was released on Rhymesayers Entertainment in 2009. It peaked at number 106 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Production Over half of the record is produced by P.O.S himself, along with contributions from Doomtree producers Lazerbeak, Paper Tiger and MK Larada. Joshua Paul Davis (born June 29, 1972), better known by his stage name DJ Shadow, is an American DJ, songwriter and record producer. His debut studio album, '' Endtroducing.....'' was released in 1996. Digitata (band)
Digitata is an electronic rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The band has released three albums on independent record label Totally Gross National Product. Digitata consists of Maggie Morrison on vocals, Ryan Olson on sequencer and Drew Christopherson on drums. Maggie Morrison is also a member of Gayngs and Lookbook. In 2010, City Pages praised her as "Best Female Vocalist" of the year. Olson and Christopherson are also part of the group Mel Gibson and the Pants. URB described Digitata's music as "quirky and synth heavy with futuristic programming full of laptop tricks and emotionally captivating vocals."
