Paolo Araldi
Paolo Araldi (18th century – after 1820) was an Italian painter of historical and religious subjects. Biography He was born in Casalmaggiore, and there initially studied under the local painter Abbott Francesco Antonio Chiozzi, but later moved to study at the Academy of Fine Arts of Parma. He became a professor at the Gymnasium of Casalmaggiore. He painted a ''Martyrdom of St Stephen'' for a monastery in Casalmaggiore. In 1820 at the Brera Academy, he exhibited two larger than life portrait heads of Heraclitus and Democritus. For the church of San Leonardo in Casalmaggiore, he painted an altarpiece of ''San Leonardo in Glory''. The painter Giuseppe Diotti was one of his pupils during 1790–1794.Biography on Diotti

Casalmaggiore ( Casalasco-Viadanese: ) is a ''comune'' in the province of Cremona, Lombardy, Italy, located across the Po River. It was the birthplace of Italian composers Ignazio Donati and Andrea Zani. It became worldwide famous thanks to its Women Volleyball Team Volleyball Casalmaggiore especially in the years between 2015-2018. Francesco Antonio Chiozzi
Abate Francesco Antonio Chiozzi (1730 - 7 March 1785) was an Italian painter and Franciscan cleric, active mainly in Casalmaggiore, Italy. Biography He was born in Casalmaggiore, and there was initially trained by a local priest Giuseppe Moreschi. Chiozzi then copied some works of Felice Torelli and by 1748 completed a Via Crucis for the church of San Giovanni Battista. In 1749, he completed a number of portraits for individuals in Casalmaggiore. Hoping to gain more expertise, he was placed the following year in a studio in Bologna, soon working with Vittorio Bigari, and obtaining commissions to make copies of medallions in the possession of the Aldrovandi family. In Bologna, his ''Abraham expels Hagar and Ishmael'' won a first prize at the Clementine Academy of Fine Arts for figure. The following year for the Marsigliani prizes, he won second place for his ''Hercules slays the Dragon at the Golden Gate''. The Accademia di Belle Arti di Parma (Academy of Fine Arts of Parma) is an artistic institution in the city of Parma, Italy. Giuseppe Diotti
Giuseppe Diotti (1 March 1779 – 30 January 1846) was an Italian painter of the Neoclassic style. Biography He was born in Casalmaggiore. His full name was Francesco Giuseppe Antonio Diotti. He initially was apprenticed in his hometown to Paolo Araldi. As a teenager, until 1796, he attended the Academy at Parma and was there instructed by Carlo Calami. After a few years back at Casalmaggiore, he gained stipends to allow him to travel to Rome, where he was strongly influenced by the academic styles of both Gaspare Landi and Vincenzo Camuccini. He painted in fresco as well as in oil, distinguishing himself as a painter of historical subjects. From 1806 to 1809, he painted, among other topics, the ''Rest in Egypt'', a ''Deposition'', a ''Moses with Tablets'', an ''Adoration by Shepherds'', and ''Moses and the Bronze Serpent''. Museo Diotti
The Museo Diotti is an art institution and museum displaying 19th and 18th century art, located on Via Formis 17 in the historic center of Casalmaggiore, province of Cremona Lombardy, Italy. History The museum, opened in 2007, is located in the palace once owned by the local painter Giuseppe Diotti (1779–1846). After a successful career, the painter moved back to Casalmaggiore late in life; and in 1838, he had the architect Fermo Zuccari restructure the palace. By 1865, the structure had become a local gallery, but then over the years functioned as a nursing home, school, and civic library. The museum has one wing on the '' piano nobile'' displaying works from the 19th century, many by Diotti himself, and maintaining the rooms as they would have looked when he lived, taught, and painted there. Alessandro Araldi
Alessandro Araldi (c. 1460 – c. 1529) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance, active mainly in Parma. Little is known of his biography. He apparently assisted with contemporary Cristoforo Caselli (il Temperello). His work shows the influences of the school of Melozzo da Forlì and of early Venetian Renaissance painters such as Giovanni Bellini and the Vivarini, but also Lorenzo Costa from Ferrara. He painted frescoes in the Benedictine monastery of San Paolo. He also painted two scenes with the story of St. Catherine, the ''Dispute before the emperor Maximilian'' and ''St. Catherine and St. Jerome'', including an odd Annunciation (1514), for the abbess Giovanna da Piacenza (1514).
