Paola Tiziana Cruciani
Paola Tiziana Cruciani (born 29 May 1958) is an Italian actress, comedian and playwright. Life and career Born in Rome, Cruciani studied acting at the "Laboratorio Teatrale", a theatre workshop directed by Gigi Proietti, graduating in 1981. Between 1981 and 1984 she was a member of the comedy ensemble "La Zavorra", with whom she took part in several television variety shows. In 1984, Cruciani began working on stage as a playwright, actress and director, and in the same year made her film debut in Francesco Laudadio's '' Fatto su misura''. She was married for several years to film director Paolo Virzì, with whom she had a daughter, Ottavia. In 1999, she was nominated for a David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress thanks to her performance in Virzì's '' Baci e abbracci''. ''Permette? Alberto Sordi'' () is a 2020 Italian film directed by Luca Manfredi. The film narrates the twenty years of Alberto Sordi's life, from 1937 to 1957, from his beginnings to his celebrity, retracing his friendships, loves and his career; the film is one of the initiatives planned for the centenary of the birth of the Roman actor. Alberto Sordi (15 June 1920 – 24 February 2003) was an Italian actor, voice actor, singer, comedian, director and screenwriter. Early life Born in Rome to a schoolteacher and a musician and the last of five children, Sordi was named in honour of an older sibling, who died several days after his birth. Sordi enrolled in Milan's dramatic arts academy but was kicked out because of his thick Roman accent. In the meantime, he studied to be a bass opera singer. His vocal distinctiveness would become his trademark. Luigi "Gigi" Proietti (2 November 1940 – 2 November 2020) was an Italian actor, voice actor, comedian, musician, singer and television presenter. Early life He was born in Rome to Romano Proietti, originally from Umbria, and Giovanna Ceci, a housewife. During his youth he was keen on singing and on playing guitar, piano, accordion and double bass in several Roman nightclubs. He enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the La Sapienza University, where he attended the mimicry courses of the University Theatre Centre held by Giancarlo Cobelli, who immediately noticed his talent as a musician and booked him for an avantgarde play.
