Panikos Krystallis
Panikos Krystallis ( el, Πανίκος Κρυστάλλης; born 1 July 1938) is a Cypriot former football player and manager who played as a forward. Apart from a stint abroad with Greek club AEK Athens, he spent his entire career in his home country of Cyprus with Apollon Limassol and AEL Limassol. At international level, he made 20 appearances for the Cyprus national team scoring four goals. Early life Krystallis was born on in Amiantos and grew up in Limassol. His name was Panikos Anastasiou, but subsequently, in an affidavit, he changed it to Krystallis to honor his mother, Krystalla, who raised him alone as his father had died very early. Club career Krystallis started his football career in 1953, when he joined the academies of AEL Limassol under Argyris Gavalas and in 1955 he was promoted to the men's team. Mimis Papaioannou
Dimitrios "Mimis" Papaioannou ( el, Δημήτριος "Μίμης" Παπαϊωάννου; born 23 August 1942) is a Greek former professional football player, who played as a forward, mostly for AEK Athens and a former manager. His nickname was "The Vlach" ''(Greek: "ο Βλάχος")'', due to his origin. Throughout his entire career, Papaioannou was never shown a single red card, showing the prudence and integrity of his character. Papaioannou was considered to be the best Greek footballer of his generation and one of the best Greek footballers of all time, being awarded the best Greek footballer of the 20th Century by IFFHS. 1965–66 Cypriot Cup
The 1965–66 Cypriot Cup was the 24th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 13 clubs entered the competition. It began with the first round on 4 June 1966 and concluded on 29 June 1966 with the final which was held at GSP Stadium (1902). Apollon won their 1st Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Nea Salamis 4–2 in the final. 1956–57 Cypriot Second Division
The 1956–57 Cypriot Second Division was the fourth season of the Cypriot second-level football league. Apollon Limassol won their 1st title. Format Nine teams participated in the 1956–57 Cypriot Second Division. The league was split into two geographical groups, depending from which Districts of Cyprus each participated team came from. All teams of each group played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season were crowned group champions. The winners of each group played against each other in the final phase of the competition and the winner were the champions of the Second Division. The champion was promoted to the 1957–58 Cypriot First Division. Teams received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. The Cypriot Second Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Β΄ Κατηγορίας) is the second highest football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administrated by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top two teams being promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last four teams being relegated to the Cypriot Third Division.
