The Pambar River is a tributary of the Thenpennai River in the Krishnagiri and Tirupattur districts of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The Pambar begins as a small stream close to the village of Poongulam in the Vaniyambadi taluk of Tirupattur district. It flows south and slightly west, and its course crosses into Krishnagiri district west of Perampattu. It continues flowing south through Uthangarai taluk, and is joined on its right bank by the Mattur River, its largest tributary. Thenpennai River
The South Pennar River (also known as ''Dakshina Pinakini'' in Kannada and ''Thenpennai or Ponnaiyar'' or ''Pennaiyar'' in Tamil) is a river in India. Bangalore, Hosur, Tiruvannamalai, and Cuddalore are the important cities on the banks of South Pennar river. This is the second longest river in Tamil Nadu, with a length of 497km, after the Kaveri. Chandapura, Anekal, Hosur, Bagalur and Chengam are the major industrial settlements on its banks. The river is severely polluted by industrial waste as it flows through major industrial areas in the eastern suburbs of Bangalore, Industrial parks of Hosur and Chengam. The river originates in the Nandi Hills in the Chikkaballapura district of Karnataka and flows through Tamil Nadu before emptying into the Bay of Bengal. Krishnagiri District
Krishnagiri district is one of the 38 districts (a district in the north western part) of the state of Tamil Nadu, in India. This district is carved out from Dharmapuri District by 2004. The municipal town of Krishnagiri is the district headquarters. Tirupattur District
Tirupattur district, or Tirupathur district, is one of the 38 districts in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The district was formed in 2019 by the division of Vellore district into three smaller districts. Its creation alongside Ranipet district was announced on 15 August 2019, and it was officially declared on 28 November 2019. The town of Tirupattur serves as the district headquarters.
