Palazzo Ruspoli
The Palazzo Ruspoli is a Renaissance-style, 16th century aristocratic palace located on Via del Corso 418, where Corso intersects with Largo Carlo Goldoni and the Piazza di San Lorenzo in Lucina, in the Rione IV of Campo Marzio in central Rome, Italy. Description By the 16th century, the site of the palace was home to the Jacobbili family, and in 1583, it was sold to the Florentine mercantile family of the Rucellai. They commissioned completion of the palace from Bartolomeo Ammannati. He consolidated the long three-story facade along via de Corso and added a loggia along the inner courtyard, frescoed by Jacopo Zucchi and used to display the family's ancient sculpture collection. In 1629, the palaces was acquired by the Caetani or Gaetani family, who commissioned a refurbishment of the facade along what is now Largo Goldoni. A ''veduta'' (Italian for "view"; plural ''vedute'') is a highly detailed, usually large-scale painting or, more often, print of a cityscape or some other vista. The painters of ''vedute'' are referred to as ''vedutisti''. Origins This genre of landscape originated in Flanders, where artists such as Paul Bril painted ''vedute'' as early as the 16th century. Jacopo Zucchi
Jacopo Zucchi (c. 1541- c. 1590) was a Florentine painter of the Mannerist style, active in Florence and Rome. His training began in the studio of Giorgio Vasari, and he participated in decoration of the ''Studiolo'' and the ''Salone dei Cinquecento'' in the Palazzo Vecchio. Moving to Rome in the early 1570s, he worked for Cardinal Ferdinando de' Medici in his Palazzo Firenze (1574), for whom he also probably produced the oil on panel paintings '' The Golden Age'' and ''The Silver Age'' (both c.1576-1581, both now in the Uffizi). Palazzo Spada
The Palazzo Spada is a palace located on Piazza di Capo Ferro #13 in the rione Regola of Rome, Italy. Standing very close to the Palazzo Farnese, it has a garden facing towards the Tiber river. Palazzo Corsini, Rome
The Palazzo Corsini is a prominent late-baroque palace in Rome, erected for the Corsini family between 1730 and 1740 as an elaboration of the prior building on the site, a 15th-century villa of the Riario family, based on designs of Ferdinando Fuga. Martino Longhi the Younger (March 18, 1602– December 15, 1660) was an Italian architect of the Baroque period active in Rome, in a milieu when the most prominent competition for commissions came from no less than Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Francesco Borromini, Carlo Rainaldi and Pietro da Cortona. Bartolomeo Ammannati
Bartolomeo Ammannati (18 June 151113 April 1592) was an Italian architect and sculptor, born at Settignano, near Florence. He studied under Baccio Bandinelli and Jacopo Sansovino (assisting on the design of the Library of St. Mark's, the ''Biblioteca Marciana'', Venice) and closely imitated the style of Michelangelo.
