Palatak
'' Palatak'' is a 1963 Bengali film directed by Jatrik. The film features actors Anup Kumar, Sandhya Roy and Ruma Guha Thakurta in the lead roles. The film was based on ''Angti Chattujjer Vai'', a Bengali short story of Manoj Basu. Shyamsundar Ghosh composed the music for the film. The movie was remade in Hindi in 1969 as ''Rahgir''. Plot A man Basanta Chatujje (describing himself as Angti Chattujje's brother) who couldn't stand bounds and chains bitten by wanderlust. In spite of the fact that he hailed from a rich Zamindari family and could have lived in comfort, his wanderlust took him to newer and different places where he encountered new people and mingled with their lives. Anup Kumar (actor)
Anup Kumar (অনুপ কুমার) (17 June 1930 – 3 September 1998) was an Indian actor who is known for his work in Bengali cinema. Early life Anup Kumar was born on 17 June 1930 in Calcutta, British India. His real name was Satyen Das. His parents were Dhirendra Nath Das who was a singer and actor and was closely associated with the famous poet and composer, Kazi Nazrul Islam 899-1976 and Bijoya Das. He passed his Matriculation at the Calcutta Jubilee Institution. In 1986, he married actress Aloka Ganguly. Acting career Anup Kumar took his acting lessons from his father and Sisir Kumar Bhaduri. Tarun Majumdar (or Mazumdar, 22 September 1931 – 4 July 2022) was an Indian film director and Screenwriter who is known for his work in Bengali cinema. Jahar Roy (19 September 1919 – 1 August 1977) was an Indian actor and comedian in Bengali cinema. He was known for his comedy films with Bhanu Bandyopadhyay. Ruma Guha Thakurta (21 November 1934 – 3 June 2019) was an Indian actress and singer primarily associated with Bengali language films. She founded Calcutta Youth Choir in 1958. Early life Ruma Guha Thakurta was born on 3 November 1934 to Satyen Ghosh (Monty Ghosh) and singer Sati Devi. Her family was culturally inclined to Brahmo Samaj, a societal component of Brahmoism.
