On 15 August 2022, the PIN system celebrated its 50th anniversary. History The PIN system was introduced on 15 August 1972 by Shriram Bhikaji Velankar, an additional secretary in the Government of India's Ministry of Communications. The system was introduced to simplify the manual sorting and delivery of mail by eliminating confusion over incorrect addresses, similar place names, and different languages used by the public. Ranga Reddy District
Ranga Reddy district ( R. R. district) is a district in the Indian state of Telangana. The district headquarters is located at Lakdikapool, Hyderabad. The district was named after the former deputy chief minister of the United Andhra Pradesh, K. V. Ranga Reddy. The district shares boundaries with Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Hyderabad, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Nagarkurnool, Mahabubnagar, Sangareddy and Vikarabad districts. History The district was formed in 1978 when it was split from Hyderabad district. Originally named Hyderabad Rural district, it was renamed after Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy, a freedom fighter who fought for the independence of Telangana from the Nizams and who went on to become the deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Shamshabad is a city in the Indian state of Telangana. It is located in Shamshabad mandal of Rajendranagar revenue division. The international airport of Hyderabad is located here. History In former times the area was known as Sedanti village, which was later renamed Shamsabad in reference to Shams-ul-Umra, the title bestowed upon "Abul Fateh Khan", Tegh Jung, Shams-ud-Daula, Shams-ul-Mulk and Shams-ul-Umrah ("The Sun among the Nobles"), who founded the Paigah nobility during the reign of Nizam II, Mir Nizam Ali Khan (1762-1803). There was a time when the whole of the Shamsabad area were under the direct control of Paigah, including where the new airport has been built, the entire Shamsabad village was granted to Nawab Shams-ul-Umara Bahadur as a reward.
