Neelo
Neelo Begum (born Cynthia Alexander Fernandes; ''née'' Abida Riaz; 30 June 1941 – 30 January 2021) was a Pakistani veteran film actress. She made her film debut in 1956 with Hollywood film ''Bhowani Junction''. She was known as ''The Queen of Romance'' and ''The Princess of Romance'' for her portrayal of romantic roles. She worked in more than one hundred and thirty-four Pakistani films including Urdu and Punjabi language films. She was the recipient of numerous awards, including Nigar Awards, she earned recognition after appearing in a song "Aaye Mausam Rangilay Suhanay" from the film ''Saat Lakh'' and after playing lead role in ''Zarqa''. Early life and career Born into a Catholic family, she adopted a Muslim name, Abida Riaz after marrying a Pakistani filmmaker, Riaz Shahid in 1965. She is the mother of film actor Shaan Shahid. Beti (1964 Film)
''Beti'' (also spelled as ''Baitee'' ) is a Pakistani film directed by Raza Mir and produced by Iqbal Shehzad. Nazim Panipati was the story writer, with dialogues by Zia Sarhadi. It stars Neelo and Ejaz with child actor Gutto in lead roles. The plot revolves around a famous actress who accepts anonymity to save her daughter and house. The music was composed by Deebo Bhattacharya. Released in July 1964, it was the first film of Mir as director. ''Beti'' is considered as one of the best performance of Neelo. Plot The plot revolves around a married couple, where the actress wife gets unwell during her shooting. On visiting doctor, it reveals on her that she is pregnant. She does want the unborn and asks for the abortion to the doctor. But, on the insistence and love of her husband, she decides to change her decision. Adeeb
Muzaffar Adeeb (1934 – 26 May 2006), known mononymously as Adeeb, was a Pakistani film actor. He appeared in 38 Indian films from 1940 to 1962, although he did not start performing in films very actively until the 1950s. In 1962, he shifted from Bombay (now Mumbai), India, to Lahore, Pakistan and resumed his film career that lasted until his death with over 500 films to his credit. Early life and career He was born in Bombay in a conservative Pakhtun (Pathan) family from Kashmir. His family moved on to Bombay before independence of Pakistan in 1947 and that is where the actor in him emerged, after the completion of his Master's Degree in Urdu literature from Bombay University, Maharashtra. Unlike his contemporaries, scriptwriting was the first love of Adeeb, who worked in the scriptwriting department with Raj Kapoor's father, Prithvi Raj Kapoor, in Prithvi Theatre and later with Indian National Theatre as assistant director. Rosy Afsary (also Rosy Samad, 23 April 1946 – 9 March 2007) was an actress in the Bangladeshi film industry. She was awarded the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in its first ceremony in 1975 for her role in the film ''Lathial''. Naghma Begum, or just Naghma (born 25 March 1945), is a Pakistani actress. She has worked in more than 350 Urdu and Punjabi movies from 1960 to 2018. In 2000, she was honoured with the "Lifetime Achievement Nigar Award" for her 50 years long acting career. For her contributions towards the television industry, she was honoured by the Government of Pakistan with the Pride of Performance in 2023.
