Pakistani New Zealanders, also known as Pakistani Kiwis, are New Zealanders of Pakistani descent or Pakistan-born people who have immigrated to New Zealand. Demographics According to 2001 statistics, Pakistani Kiwis size around a population of 3,000. However, since that time, the population of Pakistani Kiwis has been growing at a fair pace across many parts of the country with significant figures in Auckland. In 2007, the population had grown to 5,000. Pakistanis are located in almost all the major cities and towns of New Zealand, including Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, Tauranga, Otago and Dunedin. Chinese New Zealanders
Chinese New Zealanders ( mi, Tāngata Hainamana o Aotearoa; ) or Sino-New Zealanders are New Zealanders of Chinese ancestry. The largest subset of Asian New Zealanders, many of the Chinese immigrants came from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or other countries that have large populations of Chinese diaspora. Punjabi New Zealanders
Punjabi New Zealanders are New Zealanders who are of Punjabi descent. Their ancestry originates wholly or partially in the Punjab region of South Asia, constituting a subgroup of Indian New Zealanders and Pakistani New Zealanders. According to the 2018 New Zealand census, there were 34,227 Punjabi-speaking individuals in the country. Punjabi was the second most commonly spoken South Asian language in New Zealand after Hindi, and the 14th most common overall. Billy Ibadulla
Khalid "Billy" Ibadulla (born 20 December 1935) is a Pakistani New Zealander cricket coach, commentator, former cricket umpire and cricketer. He has worked as TVNZ cricket commentator. He played in four Tests for Pakistan between 1964 and 1967. First-class career After a few matches in Pakistan, where he made his first-class debut at the age of 16, Ibadulla played most of his cricket as a professional for Warwickshire, for whom he appeared between 1954 and 1972, mostly as an opening batsman. He made 1000 runs in a season six times, with a highest tally of 2098 runs in 1962. His top score was 171, against Oxford University in 1961. Aaron Haroon Rashid simply known as Haroon, is a British-born Pakistani Peabody award winning singer-songwriter, music producer, composer, director and social activist. The Auckland cricket team represent the Auckland region and are one of six New Zealand domestic first class cricket teams. Governed by the Auckland Cricket Association they are the most successful side having won 28 Plunket Shield titles, ten wins in The Ford Trophy and the Super Smash four times.
