Paisley District Tramways Company operated a tramway service in Paisley between 1903 and 1923.The Golden Age of Tramways. Published by Taylor and Francis. History Paisley District Tramways Company took over the Paisley Tramways Company on 17 September 1903 and undertook a programme of modernisation and electrification. The first electric tramway services started on 13 June 1904. There were depots at: *Aurs Road, Barrhead *Main Road, Elderslie *Paisley Road, Renfrew Takeover The company was taken over by Glasgow Corporation Tramways on 1 August 1923, which continued to operate trams in Paisley until the late 1950s. National Tramway Museum
The National Tramway Museum (trading as Crich Tramway Village) is a tram museum located at Crich (), Derbyshire, England. The museum contains over 60 (mainly British) trams built between 1873 and 1982 and is set within a recreated period village containing a working pub, cafe, old-style sweetshop and tram depots. The museum's collection of trams runs through the village-setting with visitors transported out into the local countryside and back. The museum is operated by the Tramway Museum Society, a registered charity. The trams at Crich mostly ran in cities in the United Kingdom prior to the 1960s, with trams rescued (even from other countries) as the systems closed. Most of the UK tram networks, with a few exceptions closed before the 1960s. The last to close was Glasgow Corporation Tramways in 1962, a tramway well represented at the museum, leaving just the Blackpool Tramway as the sole surviving first-generation tramway. Glasgow Corporation Tramways
Glasgow Corporation Tramways were formerly one of the largest urban tram, tramway systems in Europe. Over 1000 municipally-owned trams served the city of Glasgow, Scotland, with over 100 route miles (160 route kilometres) by 1922. The system closed in 1962 and was the last city tramway in Great Britain (prior to the construction of new systems in the 1990s). Creation The Glasgow Street Tramways Act was enacted by Parliament of the United Kingdom, Parliament in 1870. This legislation allowed Politics of Glasgow, Glasgow Town Council to decide whether or not to have tramways within Glasgow. In 1872, the Town Council laid a route from St George's Cross, Glasgow, St George's Cross to Eglinton Toll (via New City Road, Cambridge Street, Sauchiehall Street, Renfield Street and the Glasgow Bridge, Glasgow, Jamaica Bridge).

Summerlee, Museum Of Scottish Industrial Life
Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life is an industrial and social history museum in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is situated on the site of the Victorian Summerlee Iron Works and the former Hydrocon Crane factory. The main Hydrocon factory building became the museum’s exhibition hall but it has been substantially changed and adapted since. The museum aims to show Lanarkshire's contribution to engineering, mining, steel working, weaving and farming, and also show the lives of the people of the area. It includes interactive displays and a temporary exhibition space. Entry is free of charge.
